This week, my kid took off running across the park area near his after school care... and I ran after him and caught him. He was as delighted as I was. I don't think he had ever seen me run.

I'm down juuuust short of 60 pounds since I started this. (Including the 2 week pre-op diet.) Seven weeks since sleeved, no major stalls. I'm sticking to 700-850 calories a day, 90-110 grams of Protein a day, <60 g of carbs a day. I walk/hike around 10 miles a week, which I am actually starting to love. The 'burbs here in Chicago are full of public woods with trails. I walk a slightly different path nearly every day.
BEST OF ALL: as of today, I can eat solid foods. I actually started a bit last night. My family made a sort of pizza bread thing and I had about 160 calories worth of that. Tonight, I want to have... a Tomato. Seriously... it's been killing me watching my family rave over the amazing tomatoes in season and not be able to have one.

Four and a half months out from surgery... This morning, I noticed something weird above my thigh getting out of the shower. Kind of a lump, it looked like.
I was worried for a minute then I noticed it was on the other side, too. It was my hip bone. It has never been visible before in my entire adult life.

I know I tested my wife's patience for a while. I had decided to tell the bare minimum of people. The problem was, until I hit around 85-100 pounds lost, virtually no one noticed (or at least virtually no one said anything about how) I was changing. This meant I was working really hard on diet and exercise, Vitamins, doctor's visits, etc. and getting no feedback from the world. I ended up talking about this stuff at home so much I was driving her nuts.
We're good now, but I don't think I realized how annoying I had been until after the fact when she told me she was glad I was past that.
