MiamiHusker got a reaction from ProudGrammy in 60 lbs. down 8 weeks out
I had my gastric sleeve surgery exactly 2 months ago today. As of this morning I'm down 60 lbs. It took less than a week after surgery for me to get back to exercising. Prior to surgery I would walk 7-8 miles 3-4 times a week. I would also spend 30-45 minutes on the elliptical a couple times a week. This made the post-surgery transition much, much easier since I had been exercising from the very beginning.

I had my surgery on July 27 of this year. A week before I bought a pair of Levi’s 501 jeans 42”x32”. I’m determined to try them on Thanksgiving Day. This was the same size I wore in high school. Once they fit I’ll know I’m about 75% done.

I am one year out (Surgiversary was Oct 3), and I saw a cool idea I was inspired by, so I saved all my jeans and took an image of them all. Biggest was size 20, smallest (current) size 4. Needless to say I should have taken stock in Old Navy!

Finally time for my 6 months before and after pictures.
I have lost over 90 lbs.
A week ago I completed a Nordic Walking half marathon.
I have prevented a second back surgery, and life is pretty good.
I have under 15 lbs until I have a normal BMI. I started at 42.

I really love the muscle milk pro series. They're pretty adorable they taste great and have 32g Protein in an 11 oz serving with only 1g sugar and 160 calories. Did I mention they were delicious the vanilla flavor literally tastes like a milkshake.

10 days removed from surgery I weigh my food. I have to because I have no idea what a proper portion is. If I did I wouldn't be on this forum.

I had Gastric Sleeve on 7/27 and experienced the same gas pain. As seen in other parts of this thread, I affirm that the only way to fix it is through walking. No shortcuts to feeling better.

MiamiHusker reacted to brookebonic in One year out... 140 lbs down...
I'm officially one year and one week out from my surgery date. I can't believe it. I've lost 140 lbs from my highest weight and I'm literally stunned at how the weight has just fallen off. Some people do not even recognize me because of this. Sometimes I do not even recognize myself because I feel like I will always be the "chubby" girl I've been since childhood. I've tried to explain this to some people but most don't understand... and I don't expect them to. I have always known this strong, amazing, resilient person was here, but didn't always know my potential to be such, because I was too busy hiding, unfortunately, but most likely, from myself. The first few months post-surgery were extremely difficult, but I feel I've gotten more accustomed to my new lifestyle now and I feel wonderful now. Just wanted to share...
I also wanted to ask... How many of you have lost a similar amount of weight within the first year or so? I asked my surgeon if it was typical to lose so much for someone my size and age, but I didn't really get an answer. He just told me I should be extremely proud of my progress... which I am! (I started at 325, I'm 5'11 and 25 years old)
Cheers, y'all!!! Whether you're drinking a Protein Shake, Water, or anything else...
Pictured is me at my surgery date last year on June 21, 2016 and May 31, 2017...
