Caffeine is what you need to watch for.... I've read that you should avoid any caffeine in any form for at least 30 days post WLS because caffeine stimulates gastric acid secretion. Which can lead to issues with healing, increased regurgitation, reflex and indigestion. That and caffeine is a dietetic, so it works against your Water intake.

There is nothing wrong with you. Try the following:
    1) Tracking your Calories and Macros (Fat, Carbs, Protein):
Carbs - 25g Fat - 35g Protein - 135g 2) Increase your vegetable intake with no starchy vegetables (Cucumbers, Spinach, Kale, Broccoli, Tomatoes, Lettuce)
    3) Drink 64 oz of Water. (When you feel hunger, drink 8 oz of Tea)
    4) Be mindful that it may be head hunger and physical hunger. (This is where the tea will help).

Frito Lay and others make something called Puffcorn, absolutely no hulls. But those are empty snack calories, give your brand spanking sleeve or pouch something lower calories and healthy instead. Besides the oils etc alway gave me bouncing bad indigestion.

I struggle with a heavy flow (TMI to some idc). When it's that time of the month for me, I take ibuprofen. I hated the side effects of birth control and while I still have my hormones go out of whack and get insanely emotional or crazy during this time of the month, taking ibuprofen daily helped slow things down for me dramatically. Oh and buy overnight "ultra" tampons for the first few days that it's the heaviest. Good luck! It's a really hard thing to deal with, I know! @TheNewGiGi

I have endometriosis as well. I did not have a hysterectomy as I am 26 and do not have children (What the Doctors say because I have tried getting one a lot). However, I have an IUD which helps with my period. Even with not having a period as much, I still get random pain in the area for about 1 week. I get a sharp stabbing pain like my period is coming on the left or right side of my pelvis.
Unfortunately, due to the damage that was done to my surrounding organs, I was advised that I would have pain randomly for the rest of my life. It is not much I can do about it. However, they have suggested that staying active does help alleviate the pain.

p.s. if you are carb sensitive (and I am NOT - but lots of people are), I would stay away from Cereal. At least while you're in the weight loss phase.

I don't know how your program defines mushy...so some of these ideas might not qualify - but I ate: plain sweet potato, cooked carrots, canned chicken or tuna mushed up with a tiny bit of mayo to help moisten it, cream of whatever Soups (chicken, mushroom, etc), hummus and a LOT of refried Beans. If refried beans work then maybe try mushing up other types of beans - black or kidney - and adding in different seasonings. You could do kidney beans with a little chili powder and cumin so it tastes like chili for example. And frequently what worked for me one day would not work the next - and what I got sick on one day would be totally fine the next day so keep trying things periodically.

Good news is I haven’t needed to take my diabetes meds since before surgery so that’s a plus.

Don’t feel nervous you got this. Try to go in with a positive attitude everything will be fine. If you have support groups in your area I would suggest attending those too. I learned a lot from my support group and appreciate everything from it.

Try using a heating pad too especially if you are getting it on your back or shoulders. I did and still do occasionally but heating pad helps a great deal too.

@frust8 I've been doing really well!
Today is day 7 post-op, and only today did my incision stop hurting with every little movement, now it only hurts with very specific movements. I was able to spring clean my make up collection, and get back to my skincare routine.
I lost 14 pounds so far, and I am feeling great! I remember 14 pounds taking me two months of strict calorie counting, using the scale, and meal prep... I am definitely getting into the hype of WLS right now lol! I am regaining my energy a little bit at a time. But the hunger has been real. It could be my stomach acid but each morning I wake up with this gnawing hunger. liquids, tea, broth, and yogurt help me keep it down by a lot. I am on the full liquids phase (can't have even blended soup! Just strained broth) till Sunday. My NUT is so strict but I think that's for the better. All the patients end up not vomiting even once. I simply can't wait to have my thai butternut squash Soup, and sweet potato curry soup, mmmmm!
