    Surgery stories???

You look amazing. I think what that other person said was rude and uncalled for in a platform like this. You should be super proud of yourself! I"m just shocked at what "dreamingsmall" said...like "no offense i'm just gonna offend you right now". So rude!

    Saying hello

I'm 3 weeks post op...I do protein shakes - I also have greek yogurts and refried beans with cheese and to treat myself....wait for it....I take a spoon of peanut butter and lick it....lol it's bomb, refreshing since I was on liquids forever and I get more protein in...just some suggestions - hopefully the expert sleevers don't criticize me for this lol.

    Nobody comments on weight loss?

Honestly, I think it has to do with people being jealous or insecure. I genuinely feel that in SOME cases, especially with women, they wouldn't want to compliment you or give you the confidence or make you feel good about yourself because they don't want you to look better or thinner than them. It's really sad honestly. Someone in my life (a female) weighs a little less than me since my weight loss. She was happy that I was about 30-35 lbs more than her. It made her happy knowing I was bigger than her. But now my weight is going down and she has not asked about surgery, how I"m doing, feeling, etc. She says I cheated and took the easy way out and is getting pissed off because I'm a few lbs away from being the same weight as her now. She doesn't realize I'm struggling on this journey of being on liquids for an entire month and not eating fast food or drinking sodas anymore and having portion control and exercising will all contribute to my weight loss...the surgery isn't a magic pill....it gives me the will power and hope I didn't have before. Eff the people who don't support you or notice you. They want you to stay down, how you were before surgery. Your light is shining through as your coming into your new skin....just shine and blind em.

JULY SLEEVERS- How are you doing?

How much liquids do you drink a day? I was stuck at the same weight for 4 days but I just increased my liquids and the scale finally moved again. Friendly tip that helps me drink more liquids...you know those baby water bottles....the ones you can chug super quick before surgery lol they are actually 8oz water bottles, they don't look it but they are! I put my liquids in that and find that I finish 8 oz way quicker then staring at a 16 oz water bottle or 20 oz bottle, 8 of those little water bottles throughout your whole day 8oz vitamin water zero, 8 oz of crystal light with water, 8 oz diet snapple, 8 oz protien shake, 8 oz water, etc. lol ....I mix it up so I don't get sick of whatever I'm drinking. - cake walk. Maybe try that if you're having a hard time with liquids? don't get discouraged we're still soooo early in our journey....don't forget you just had an organ removed from your body ONLY 8 days ago...don't be so hard on yourself. You're body is still healing and trying to adjust to what just happened. <3

JULY SLEEVERS- How are you doing?

I had surgery on 7/14. I'm in my 3rd week post op - 17 days ago. Hospital stay was a little rough, nauseous and dry heaving (they said it was more due to the anesthesia then anything else). Next morning doing an x-ray to make sure I was good...I cried and threw up the contrast they made me drink...roughest part for me for sure! Each day gets better and easier Pain is pretty much gone...I am experiencing like a pulling sensation in certain positions. Can sleep on my stomach and side now which is freaking awesome, but still a little sensitive on the tummy when sleeping (pulling sensation a little). Incisions are looking pretttttyyy good, teeny tiny...not mad...not mad at all lol. I just want these ugly stretch marks on my belly to fade. I started at 228lbs...a day before surgery I had to drink 2 bottles of magnesium citrate (DISGUSTING lol) and do an enema (ummmmm I almost backed out of surgery lol jk) I lost 7 lbs that night and weighed in day of surgery at 221. Today I am 206 lbs. My doctor has his patients be on a liquid diet for a whole month after surgery so that's where I"m at. He said don't worry about protein as much as just staying hydrated. I drink about 40-50oz a day. It's kind of hard to get as much in now that I'm back to work. Protein shake in the morning, and then water, diet snapple and vitamin water 0 are my go to's. I also have been drinking broth and occassionally have a few spoons of a soup. Honestly, some days I have a little regret because I miss food so much and I get sad not being able to eat with my family or watch them eat all this amazing food. But my boyfriend reminds me that I'm strong as hell for doing this because not everyone has the courage to. I need to drink a little more and walk more but overall happy with my weight loss so far even though I stalled last week. I've been stuck at 206 for like 4-5 days now. Can't wait to eat food though. Healthy choices but foooood lol k that was a lot sorry for the essay! Hope you're all doing fantastic in your recovery and the beginning of your journey!
