    Anyone vape here?

Yes I vape (6mg nicotine). I vaped right after surgery in August and have continued. My surgeon wasn't concerned and I wasn't told to stop. haven't noticed any ill effects.
  2. Wow Jeaniered that's really good going! I've only lost 30lbs in almost the same time but I feel back to normal - enjoying food but just can't eat as much. The stalls are a pain but I am at least dropping clothes sizes and losing inches so I can cope. take care x
  3. I had 4 weeks pureed (ramekin sized), 4 weeks soft and then normal. Tried solid food about a week earlier than I should have but it was not a success! Felt as if I had eaten a golf ball. Lesson learnt!

    Bruce Stress Test - Fail

Can you explain what is the stress test and why you need one to qualify for WLS? Sorry if my question is a bit dumb but I didn't have to undergo any tests before my surgery.

    Might back out...

Hi - I had my surgery mid August so I guess I'm a relative newbie and I'm sure that more experienced people will be able to give sound advice. All I can say is that I too read loads of horror stories but I can honestly say I have had very few problems since my surgery. Sure, the first few weeks of pureed food were tough and I did suffer from constipation for a while. Other than that I have been pain free from the day of the operation. Now, 11 weeks after I feel pretty much normal. I haven't lost tons of weight but I have lost inches and feel so much better. I can walk for hours without knee and hip pain and can play with my grand kids without pain. I go out for dinner with family and friends and enjoy the experience just as much as before. In fact its great because I don't worry too much about what I order - just the amount. I also drink wine with meals without problem and one glass of wine is enough. I fact now I'm a pretty cheap date! . I haven't had any noticeable hair loss, I'm not pre-occupied with protein and the only real difference is that I am satisfied with much less food. Other than that life is back to normal with the benefit that I can already fit into smaller size clothes. There have been weeks when I haven't lost weight (probably because of the cheats!) which is disappointing but I know this is a long game and I can't live my life by the rules. I know that the fat will go, maybe it will take longer than other more disciplined people. I have never regretted the decision to go for WLS, just wish I had done it years earlier. I hope that my experience helps you decide what to do. Good luck, whatever you decide.xx
  6. Hi - my surgery was mid August and I have had alcohol ( mainly white wine) on a few occasions without any side effects. I was told that 1 drink post op would be equivalent to 4 pre-op but I can't say I have noticed any difference. I'm certainly not squiffy after one glass! I would say "a little of what you fancy etc, but then that's probably why I needed wls in the first place!
  7. The same thing has happened to me. I had surgery on 11th August and lost 25lbs in the first 4 weeks and nothing at all since. It is so depressing! Everyone (including me) was expecting the weight to fall off steadily but no. I am eating on average 800 calories a day but the b***** scales haven't moved for two weeks! I know a lot of people report this stall but can anyone tell me what the real physical reason is for this? I really don't understand what is going on with my (still fat) body!
  8. No, haven't been told to take extra iron. The chewy vitamins do include iron so I guess they cover what I need.
  9. Sorry to hear you're still in pain Let me know what the doc advises.xx
  10. Hiya - I'm on chewy centrium vits and ad-cal (although I'm not taking the adcal at the mo cause they made me constipated. Thanks for the tip about the noodles - I will try them. I quite like the M&S soups too - expensive but they last for ages! Only have 2 more injections to go which I'm so happy about as my tummy is covered in bruises. Weight loss has slowed right down which is a bit of a bummer with all this effort! Hope it picks up again or else I'm going to get REALLY peed off. Hope you're feeling well xx
  11. I had my surgery in Kent on 11th August. Just finishing week 3 and really fancying a curry! Getting desperate to chew something and drink a glass of wine! Did you have to have daily injections?
  12. Hi Daniel - I had my surgery on 11th August and i feel exactly the same. getting fed up with pureed food and feel that I probably could go on to the soft food stage now but I'm too frightened! I haven't had any reflux or 'overfull' feelings since the op. If you speak to your nurse, let me know what they say as it will stop me having to call :).

    Vomiting - Sleeve yesterday

I'm no expert (had surgery 12 days ago) but it sounds like you could have a bleed. Contact your surgeon. Good luck xx
  14. Would love to get a reply to my posts - any post! I'm one week post op and would love to talk to people in a similar situation.

    One Week Out

I was given Cenrtrum chewy vitamins from the hospital (I'm one week after surgery). Easy to suck and I guess they're o.k if the hospital prescribed.
