  1. I'm a little over 3 months post op. HW = 260 SW = 244 CW = 196. I feel great, no issues except constipation. I was suppose to have 3 month check up tomorrow, but cancelled due to a funeral. Next check up May 8th. So, I won't know my labs till then. My hair is falling out big time! Hope that stops soon! Has anyone had their labs done? How were they?
  2. 13 weeks post op here. I feel really good. Down 47-lbs since surgery, 63 total. My hair is falling out by the boat load! My 3 month check up is the end of this month. Curious to see what my lab results will be. Hope your all doing great and feeling great!
  3. 13 weeks post op. Hair falling out by the boat load! My 3 month check is the 28th of this month. I feel really good. Down 63-lbs. total. Lost 2-lbs. on vacation. Hope you’re all doing well!
  4. LOL! There should be a comma after yogurt :-)
  5. Hello all, I'm coming up on 10 weeks post op. I started this process last May at 260 lbs. Day of surgery Dec. 14th I weighed 244 lbs. This morning 204 lbs. I feel really good. Only threw up once (can't eat chicken or hamburger yet) still drinking Premier Protein twice a day, just to make sure I get enough protein. I eat cottage cheese with peaches, yogurt casseroles with chicken and fish. All in all, so glad I did this! Good luck to you all!
  6. I know what you mean, it 45 below zero wind chill here this morning! The only thing that got me motivated to swim, is the hot tub afterwards! It's my non-food reward for exercising ;-)
  7. jrmoseley Have you tried swimming? I swim 5 days a week at my YMCA. Swimming uses every muscle in your body. Low to no impact and age or skill does not apply! I wear a real swim suit, not a bathing suit, there is a big difference. Also I wear swim capris to cover my legs (personal choice) my thighs look like cottage cheese :-( Also my doctor said I can take Tylenol for pain. My GBP was Dec. 14th 2017. Just got back in the pool this morning. Boy did that feel good :-) I'm down 23-lbs. as of this morning. Down 39 total since I started this process. Boy will I be glad to be down 65-lbs. like you! Oh by the way, if you don't swim, our YMCA has a warm water pool strictly for exercising. (Head never gets wet) Good luck, keep up the hard work!

  9. Hi All, I was 59 last August. My bypass was almost 4 weeks ago. Doing great. Down 35 lbs so far. Not a fan of puréed food,so sticking to mostly protein drinks and lots of fluids. Tomorrow going to have some yogurt or cottage cheese oh and totally loving soft scrambled egg with cheese! Best of luck !

Week 3 post-op, want to eat!

I’m a little over 3 weeks post op. I was able to add a soft scrambled egg with shredded cheese. Takes me awhile to eat it, but so tasty and REAL food! I’m struggling with purée texture. Try to focus on your protein intake and stay hydrated. This is temporary, once we can eat real food in small portions we will be all the better for it! Stay strong!

    Medically Supervised Diet/Nutrition Visits

I had to do 12 weeks behavior modification sessions with psychiatric then 6 months supervised diet with my doctor. They can be done at the same time. The psychiatrist released me after 8 weeks. These were insurance requirements.

    Needing advice about eating

My protein drinks have lost their appeal, but it helps to dilute them with 1% milk. Try to eat very slowly. Tiny bites, take all 30 mins. But no longer. Best of luck!

    Vitamins

I was given a B-12 shot in hospital day after surgery. I will give myself a shot every month for the rest of my life. Also Flintstone chewable morning and night with Tums 1000 ultra twice a day. D3 every night.

    4 days out of surgery

Hi All, I’ve been absent for awhile, had trouble with the app. Had to reinstall. Anyway, had my 3week post-op check up last Thursday. I’m down 20-lbs. since surgery, down 35 total. I feel really good. Not hungry at all. I do miss eating though. I’m on the purée stage, but, I’m struggling with the texture. So, I’m reverted back to protein drinks and lots of liquids. My dietician didn’t seem to care, as long as I’m able to get in my 60 grams of protein and at least 64 oz. of fluid. Fluid consumption is not an issue for me, but the protein drinks(only 2a day) have lost their appeal. I added a soft scramble egg with shredded cheese and that has been great. I tried decaf coffee, but can’t stand the taste. I usually drink 28 oz. of hot water ever morning, I can’t wait to drink coffee again!!! I’m so happy I feel good, no pain, no nausea, no hunger! I don’t go back for check up again till March. How are all you December posties doing?
