Thank you.
These charts are crap. If anything they show you what is too thin if you fit in their normal range. The real concern is that I dropped 25 pounds over the past 5-6 weeks. 18 months into this my weight should be stabilizing - maybe drop a pound a week and even seeing a few weeks where I gain a bit.

I eat anything I want because after after 4 to 6 ounces, I'm done.
But you should know that I've had post-op complications. I got multiple infections, stomach leaked, 4 surgeries and so on and so on.

Friends,
Have any of you experienced too much weight-loss? I started at 402 and 18 months later I'm 159. I was 184 just 6 weeks ago and that was perfect for me and my doctors. Has anyone else found themselves unable to stop dropping pounds?

That makes sense. Thank you.

I am 9 weeks out from Gastric Bypass surgery. 9 months ago I had the sleeve performed but due to leaks I was converted into a bypass. For the past few weeks, especially at bedtime, I am passing an enormous amount of gas. When I wake up, I continue until I get out of bed. Has anyone else experienced this and do you know why? I don't think I eat enough to pass so much gas.

The first week after any surgery is tough. The Water intake will get better. Make sure to try and drink a few ounces every hour.

Thank you.

Because the sleeve leak cannot be surgically repaired and if it's not fixed, I will continue to get infections. With bypass they create new stomach.

Low-grade fever and lower left-side abdominal pain.

The Leak was realized a few weeks after surgery. It appeared to be healing on its own and contained. But I have developed two infections that are related to the leak, so unless the scan shows complete healing on Monday, we will schedule a bypass. This is why I want to know about recovery time. I have a short trip planned for mid-March that I don't want to cancel.

As you can see from my profile, I've received a gastric sleeve nearly 6 months ago and have had great success. Unfortunately, my stomach has a leak, so most likely my sleeve will be converted to a bypass. I want to know from Bypass recipients, how long after surgery where you back doing normal activities? Began exercising?

I decided to have one drink, a vodka cranberry. By sip 4 I was drunk. I nursed it for about 90 minutes and drank Water the rest of the night. The next day I was down another half-pound.
Empty calories wasn't my concern as I was only having one drink and don't drink often. It's kind of funny knowing that if I want to be buzzed, I can have half a drink.
Congrats on your success.

I am 5 months out and down 110 pounds. On Christmas Eve I want to be able to have one alcoholic drink. Has anyone had an experience with booze yet after surgery?
-
That's 11 pounds in 12 days. That is awesome. You'll be 350 by New Years, if not Christmas. Keep it up!!!

I’m one month post-op and I don’t need to wear my binder anymore for my incisions however I like wearing it to the gym and for work (I have a very physical job, up and down ladders, lifting and bending down). I like the support it gives me.
Anyone else do this?
I wore won after hernia surgery in 1999. But I've never heard of anyone wearing one after VSG.

Dropping around 4 pounds a week is called success. Not sure why you're disappointed

Let me know when you get your date. In the meantime, relax, enjoy the holidays and be excited about the upcoming year.

Today is day 97 after Gastric Sleeve surgery and I am down 80 pounds since I went under the knife. I fee; good, but not great. Still haven't gotten back my energy. To be fair, I spent a month on antibiotics for a post-op infection. This week I plan to start an exercise regimen that hopefully help with boosting my energy. My Iron is a bit low and my B-12 is off the charts high. Vitamin D also low. I began using the MD patch for my Vitamins a month ago and I believe it's working well. My blood tests were done only after 10 days on the patch.
That's my story and I'm happy to stick to it.

I've been dealing with some neck and shoulder pain. I want to use Aleve (Naproxen), but it is a blood thinner. I want to know if anyone began taking pain meds of their choice and when after surgery or is Tylenol the only way to go?

I'm 10 weeks post Gastric Sleeve surgery. I'd like to have a half-glass of Grapefruit juice. Anyone else enjoying or have suffered from pure grapefruit or orange juice?

My surgery was the same day. I was 402 on surgery day and today I''m 333. 69 pounds down and more to go. But I am happy with my results, as you should be pleased with yours.

While I can't promise you'll experience what I have, 9 weeks out, I've yet to be hungry. I eat to get my minimal nourishment. I have moments where old habits kick in but I soon realize I can't eat it or go ahead, but I can only eat a bite or two.
The next day the scale has me down another pound.

I brought up my concern a few weeks back. I had just went below 170 at the time. Doctor wasn't overly concerned. Mention drinking a weight gain shake. He is supposed to call me after I notified his office yesterday what my weight had d5opped down too. Still waiting for that call.
