Pre-ops DONE!  DONE!  DONE!   Appointment with surgeon in a week -- he all but said he'd submit me for insurance approval at this point, even without 6 months of classes under my belt.  If I ruled the world (haha), I'd have surgery on 12/18 and take two weeks of leave over the holidays -- with nobody in the office the wiser.  We shall see. :-)

Today is my first day back at work since my surgery 10/16. I thought I had thought about everything and returning to work, meals, protein, water, etc. One major thing I didn't think about was me getting dressed for work this morning and putting on slacks that I wore pre-surgery...they looked ridiculous and were entirely too big. It was awesome and stressful at the same time. Luckily, as I rummaged through the closet I found a smaller size that I kept for some strange reason, and while still a bit baggy, they were much better. Guess I'll need to get a couple pairs of slacks tonight to get me through the next month or so, then swap those out. What an awesome feeling to get rid of clothes for being to big for a change.

    The worst dumping episode
On Friday night I had the worst dumping episode to date. I have had nothing like it so far, just mildly and immediately after I have eaten, this was a case of late dumping.
I didn't eat much or as regularly as I would normally do, as I had the day off, and things are never how they usually are. I also donated plasma in the morning, not that I have ever had problems with that before.
In the afternoon I had a few reeses covered pretzels (Yes, I know) and didn't think anything of it. I was playing with my dog on the floor, was a little tired, but nothing unusual, and then woke up over and hour later. I was shaking, heart racing, sweating, legs like logs, stomach not too happy.
I knew I had to eat, so managed to get some food in me, forced myself to walk my dog half a block and then went to bed and stayed there for 12 h. On Saturday I still wasn't back to normal, a friend also telling me that I was extremely pale. As the day progressed I got better, and Sunday was no problem, went and worked out as normal.
But what a horrible experience. Guess who has another intensive to stay away from sugar.

Howdy, long time lurker who had the sleeve on 19th Oct 17.
Australian born in 1953 and piled on the weight from about the age of 45.  Yo yo diets just did not last long enough and I enjoy all the crap food that got me here.
That being said 7 days post op and I feel great again. Only 1 night in hospital and home the next day.
I'm a lucky man with  great support from family.
So far that's about it. Cheers!

Surgery is TOMORROW! It doesn't even feel real! I'm sitting here having my decaf coffee 'breakfast' and trying to just keep as busy as I can today so I can try to avoid the fact that I'm on 'clear' liquids all day today, no protein shakes  I brought chicken bone broth and chicken bouillon cubes to try for lunch, and must have brought half a pound's worth of sugar free lemon lime jello for snacks haha. Lord this day can't be done with soon enough!

Only 3 days away from this life-changing surgery, and I've started putting together a list of easy things I can do while I'm at home recovering. It has to be THE DUMBEST list of things I've ever put together, but here goes hahaha
Do all the needed post-op stuff: go for walks, use spirometer, take vitamins on time, eat/drink right, etc etc etc etc ... Portion out vitamins for the week into 4x/day pill organizer Copy all phone contacts into a spreadsheet, remove old contacts file from phone, double check remaining names against spreadsheet to ensure no one is missing Pluck eyebrows Catch up on YouTube channels I watch Color in keepsake drawing of a tattoo I designed for a friend (I'll include a pic of the outline below ) Write in penzu online journal Play xbox games I've been neglecting Prep and freeze food for first few days back at work Anybody else have a list of mundane things they want/need to do while they are recovering at home?
And here's the sugar skull owl tattoo my friend requested I design for him. It'll be super colorful once he gets it done, and once I color in the keepsake drawing for him!

To all pre -op people TRUST ME BUY THE ONE PILL THAT KEEPS U FROM BEING NAUSEA ITS LIKE 110$ MOST INSURANCE WONT PAY FOR IT TRUST ME ITS SO WORTH BUYING IT !!! I never got sick once the only time I throw up or spit up is when I eat to much soup or drink too much it's better to spit it up then feel full cause ur stomach can open so I've heard I'm sure it's not easy to open ur stomach after surgery but better to be careful. You have to learn how to eat and drink different . My old habits on how I drink and eat come and go u have  to think before u gulp I catch myself doing that because for years that's how we ate and drank so it's a new way of life . I'm so happy I did it tho except the day after I woke up from surgery it's painfull but it goes away after a few hours the more you farting and burping the better u will feel .. SO BUY THE PILL TRUST ME U WONT REGRET IT ...BORROW THE DAMM  MONEY IF U HAVE TO LOL GOOD LUCK ALL NEWBEES GOD BLESS

Finally breaking out of a month-long, self-inflicted stall. I found out the hard way that you can still squeeze plenty of empty calories and carbs into your tiny stomach if you aren't being disciplined & following your plan. Back on track, now, and just broke into triple digits! Gonna stay focused, keep tracking and make sure protein goals are always met.

So the ex-bf is completely out of the picture. I could not handle the uncertainty of his behaviors. One day he likes the way I dressed, the next day I was begging for attention. Once he started with the insecurities, I had to let it go. Truthfully, it did not hurt me as much as I thought it would. And that is because I had falling in love with someone else.
I fell in love with a woman. She is the most funny, beautiful and caring person I have ever met. She is strong, confident and dorky at the same time. She is everything I ever wanted in a person and she is ME!! I FELL IN LOVE with MYSELF again. I forgot the person I used to be and went searching for her and I found her. I never want to lose her again. If that meant giving up someone else for the sack of myself, then I would do what is necessary to keep me as a I am.
I guess sometimes you have to be selfish. I cannot sacrifice my success to make someone else fell secure in themselves. I cannot sacrifice my peace of mind to give some one a peace of mind. I just could not keep living my life through other peoples wants, hopes and desires. I want to live my life for me. I have wants, hopes and desires and I plan on making them happen.

I've been thinking about what my surgery goals are.  Here's my list:
    1.  Neck circumference less than 14-inches, which is a threshold for sleep apnea.
    2.  Waist less than 32.5 inches, or half my height, which is threshold for heart health.
    3.  Weight down 50 pounds or more, which is what the two heavy-as-heck dumbells in my media room weigh.  This will be good for my hips, knees and feet.  This will put my weight to at least where my PCP wants me.
    Everything else is gravy.

Very excited this morning. Good things have been coming my way all week. I finally got over my stall (which ended up being dehydration) and have entered "onederland".  I have gone from a 40J to a 36H (start weight at 256). And to wrap it up even more nicely, my husband had an very successful surgery for his battle with cancer this Friday. Very excited and happy and a million other things.

Today is a special day!  I'm 6 months and 3 days postop, and the scale now reads the same weight I was when I graduated from High School (215)!  Ok, so .. yes, I was fat when I was 17!  Lol.  After graduating, I started dieting, and so from the ages of 18 to 23, I usually weighed somewhere between 145 and 200.  But after turning 23 and having had 3 pregnancies, I never got back down to onederland... (I'm almost 39 now).

    HAPPY 39th BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!
Yep, today's my birthday and I'll scream it out loud for all the world to hear.  Why?  Not for birthday wishes, but because of the birthdays I had growing up weren't really celebrated too much.  When I became an adult, I would always be depressed on this day.  I had enough of it two years ago and had a revelation (thanks to my brother) and decided that from now on, I will celebrate my birthday and be happy on this day. I believe that this is the day that God has made and He and all His angels are rejoicing because I was made!!! I won't be sad anymore.  Sure, things come up, like today my four year old had the biggest epic fit over a pair of pants (and at school--the first ever) and also today, I'm missing work because I'm not feeling well, and have to go see the doctor as well.  I even weighed myself to see if I made it to onderland, but that didn't happen either.  But despite the negative stuff, I am well, TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY AND I WILL BE HAPPY.

I purchased a blouse last week at Nordstrom without trying it on, just looked at it on the rack and purchased. I went back to get it in another color yesterday because when I wore it yesterday I loved it. I automatically picked the large because I assumed that was the size I had on. I asked the sales person to double check the tag of the top I was wearing, It was a medium! I usually buy medium tops now but sometimes I forget and grab larges. The sales person said "You have to remember you are little now!" That made me feel so good. When she said that, she had no idea how large I was when I started. When people that didn't know me when I was huge comment that I am small, it really helps it sink in with me that I am actually a small person now.
