crushingit got a reaction from Bary in What are you treating yourself to once you hit your goal weight???
I will try indoor rock climbing and also go down waterslides with my family. No more watching them have all the fun!

So what's everyone doing now and up to surgery day?
I'm slowly searching through my home for stuff that I need to pack for the hospital.
I've started to teach myself new habits, like eating better and slower. I'm also taking Vitamin D and Iron tablets as per the physician's order.
I've booked afterschool care for my son for the days after surgery. I usually pick him up from school. My husband will instead pick him up from afterschool care after work.
I've also decided I should maybe pick a dress of two sizes down to help motivate me when I get sleeved.

Six Flags is definitely what I want to do. I've always loved amusement parks and when I couldn't ride on the roller coaster in July with my son and sister, I felt hurt. So, riding on the roller coaster is my treat and maybe a new car or Tummy Tuck if needed. I hope I won't need a tummy tuck.

Meguone, I'm in Australia. Here, we can buy Optifast off the shelves from almost every pharmacy. The surgeons seem to recommend the brand a lot. That's why many others in Australia are using the same brand at least during pre-op. -

crushingit reacted to Introversion in Am I the only one who gets annoyed by the question Why?
I never had to explain myself because I told no one about WLS except for a select handful of persons who would support me.
Personal boundaries are golden. You owe nobody an explanation, nor do you need to defend your choice to undergo surgery.

Pre-op diet... I started yesterday and OMFG I was constantly craving! Today was a lot better because I swapped an Optifast shake for an Optifast Soup, and that seemed to keep the hunger away.
Plus, I went food shopping today and it was painful walking past all the things I cannot eat. I died a little bit inside, but then I reminded myself that I've been so good sticking to plan.
Oct 10 seems so far away!

I finally have my official date of Oct 19th. I go in for pre-op two weeks before on the 6th. So exactly one month from today I will be starting my new life! Woop!

I had six visits which included my initial doctor's visit. Started in March. Had my endoscopy, psych eval and Dietician meeting. Was a week off because of Harvey so ended up submitting Sept 6 to insurance (originally would have been Aug 29th). Got approval insurance Sept 12th and got my surgery date at Oct 19th today. My pre-op is Oct 6th:)

I have been taking the Vitamin D. I am looking for small bowls, a food scale and doing a lot (more) research for my first couple of weeks post-op. Lots of You Tube videos and Pinterest! I figure I will start doing taste testing once I get closer to my date next month. I am not a Protein Shake fan at all so I am not looking forward to that part!

I am also working on habits breaking, avoiding sugar and bread. Tasting Protein Shakes and Protein Bars. Checking out bariatric friendly recipes and getting all the required tests for my surgery and the study I am in.
