That biotene was a life saver for me. Really helped with the dry mouth!

Have you investigated the endoscopic sleeve? I just heard of it myself but that may be better with someone with your bmi. Just do a search and you'll find some info.

I was about a 6 for the first couple of days but then improved noticeably each day since.

Why is everyone saying lap bands are “a thing of the past” and “very risky” and getting angry at anyone who gets the lap band done?!
Well, if you've been reading the forum and seen all the people needing Lapland revisions, then this should be fairly evident. If I remember correctly, the percentage of lapbands done in 2016 was only 3% of all weight loss procedures. That number has dropped dramatically year after year with most of those moving toward VSG. -
Good luck...hope all went well! Just remember, it will get better each day.

Are you considering the normal side effects of each surgery? Since it sounds like GERD is not a concern, what are your thoughts on dumping syndrome and malabsorption? They'll either be a pro or a con of bypass depending on your point of view. My bmi wasn't as high but I also had the choice between either and went with the sleeve. I'm just a week post-op but things are going well...getting in my liquids just fine now; first few days were a chore. Best of luck in whatever you choose!

I push the bowl or plate away from me after a few bites and wait a minute or two before resuming.

That walking really helps and is for your safety to prevent blood clots. Make it a top priority! [emoji106]

Did you know about the endoscopic sleeve at the time and opt for the laparoscopic one? If you did why did you chose it over the endoscopic one? Sorry to ask so many questions but there are many others on this forum and on Facebook groups who are oscillating between the two procedures and would like to know why you choose the laparoscopic one. How is your weight loss?
I had only heard of ESG recently from someone who was considering after a regain post bypass. I guess I would be reluctant to be one of the first for a new procedure, preferring something proven longer term. I had my VSG this past Thursday so I'm just now beginning to see the weight loss. Took a couple of days to shed all the extra IV Fluid weight. I am down almost 8lbs.

I looked for a surgeon with a lot of experience. The doctor I chose has been in bariatrics for about 15 years and currently does about 10 VSG's per week.

My wife was able to take me but my hospital would not allow you to use a car service for some reason.

Glad I got Tespo instead of the Patches. Part of the nutrition package that comes with my program is a six month supply of the Multivitamin patches. Since they were sort of free, I decided to try them out. Here's a picture of the reaction my skin had to the patch...wont be trying that again!

Hi, I sleeved the same day as you two. How is it going? I have a lot of pain--had gallbladder removed too.
Pain is better each day. I'm taking the minimum dose for pain reliever a couple times a day.

I find the youtube videos a bit rambly, take a drink every time they mention their hair.
Lol. Or the word "journey".

The prescribed meds gave me nightmares also...
No nightmares but the pain meds aren't doing that much for me so I'm trying to get off of them.

VSGnewguy we had surgery the same day. I am wondering if you were released today as well? And also if you have gas pain? How much Water were you able to drink today?
Yes, was released this afternoon. Good pain meds have definitely worn off. Lol.
Have been sipping all day but didn't track. I will start tracking tomorrow. I can say that getting in the fluids is tougher than I expected. How about you?

Are you going to be self-pay or use insurance? If you are using insurance, it will likely take a number of months but you should definitely contact your provider to find out the specifics.
