I am also 5'6" and although I haven't lost a ton, I have gone up and down all of my life and found that 20 lbs equal a change in size for me

Go to Vitamin Shoppe and get a single packet of Syntrax Nectar. It mixes with Water and is truly the best flavor out there. I had trouble with any Protein powder mixed with milk, but this mixes with water and goes down very easily. It comes in fruit flavors or chocolate and vanilla.

omg...I can't believe that people not only think like that, but have the audacity to say it. Honestly your HR person could be sued. My sister is getting sleeved in September and wants her husband to keep it from his parents because her mother in law has said similar things in the past when she brought up that she was contemplating it.
Being overweight I have been judged all my life. This is my biggest fear about what will happen if people find out I had the surgery. I'm a teacher and I did it over the summer.

If you have a recliner, you can sleep in that for a little while until you can sleep on your tummy again

Oh man... (Ok, berry, shake it off.. you'll be ok. Just a harmless comment...*twitch* *twitch*) deep breath.. OOOmmmmmm
    ok.. story time!
So, when I was about 5 or 7, my brothers told me to be careful swallowing watermelon seeds because they might grow in my belly.
    I
    literally
    didn't
    eat
    watermelon
    for
    10
    years.
And, when I DID start eating it again, I spent like 30 minutes picking the seeds out of one piece.
After all that? Now watermelon hurts my sleeve! LOL!

shazwott13 reacted to Dknal2 in 7 mos post op, divorced and 90 lbs gone ( pics)
    Hello fam,
just a Lil update on my life . 7 months post op. I was sleeved Dec 5. I am officially divorced now. I am happy n really enjoying me in this new bod. The surgery wasn't the reason for my divorce ,my husband was a caterer cheater , lol. But the surgery made him feel that now I was a threat in the marriage because I was getting attention . But it was his insecurities n lied that kept him from appreciating the woman he had. So , hell with him, I'm single as a dollar bill now.
I am 7 mos post op and down 90 lbs ( 89.7 to be exact). I weigh 153 lbs and I am 5'7. I now wear a size 4 in women's clothing and even fit into size 2 Vera wang dress today, NSV for me. My surgeon set my goal at 150 lbI feel so good about the choice I made to have this surgery and I would do it 10 more time if I had to. Enjoy the pics and good lock to everyone .

Born and raised in Colorado. I just had my surgery in Mexico (my insurance wouldn't cover it), but have some knowledge about bariatric surgery here. My mom got the Bypass from Dr. Snyder 15 years ago. He was one of the first surgeons in the state to offer it. My sister is scheduled to get her sleeve with him in September. The reason I would recommend him is because of all of the extra precautions he took and because of how much experience I personally knows that he has. I have actually been able to attend his pre-op classes with my sister and will attend his post-op classes with her as well.

As long as you get the sleeve instead of gastric bypass, there shouldn't be a problem. My mom got the bypass and because it shortens the intestines, you absorb fewer calories so you tend to lose more weight. With the sleeve, if you feel like you are losing too much weight, all you would have to do is adjust the types of foods you are eating and lean towards higher calorie foods and you would be fine. I have actually never heard of anyone becoming too thin from either surgery unless they develop post-op anorexia. Post op anorexia is super rare because instead of obsessing about food after your surgery, it kind of become in consequential.

shazwott13 got a reaction from gotime0810 in My own recipe, week 2 whole liquids (also works for soft foods)
During my Clear Liquids phase, I so craved savory foods, especially a ricotta bake recipe I found online. The ricotta bake was for soft food phase, but I figured out a great alternative for my full liquid phase!
1 oz of Tomato bisque Soup ( try deli dept of King Soopers or Kroger)
    1 oz cottage cheese
Pour soup through mesh strainer to get any lumps out. Mixed strained soup with cottage cheese. Heat in microwave for 30 seconds. Enjoy the taste of lasagna!
Please note that my Dr okayed cottage cheese during the full liquids phase, please make sure it is okay on yours as well. Enjoy!

shazwott13 got a reaction from cvrgurl in Hunger pains?
Ive been having these too, especially when I am laying down. they really feel like hunger pains, but the spasming sound about right. I am 8 days post op and they have been getting less and less. I have found that keeping a heating pad on my tummy helps a lot. I have not been concerned about it except that I worry that I will continue to be hungry all the time and gain weight
