    Sliders

Ice cream and popcorn is definitely a slider for me! Over Christmas I made the mistake of having about 10 cashews - I was bloated and full until the next day. Couldn’t even sit down and have Christmas dinner with my family. Protein bars I still can’t handle 8 mo. post-op, 1/2 bar feels like bricks sitting in my pouch. I carry one in my purse at all times though just in case my sugar levels completely drop

If you could close one fast food chain

I’m so glad in small-city Canada where I live we don’t have all those fast-food choices other than the standard McD’s, BK, Arby’s, Wendy’s, and Taco Bell! Both me and my hubby would be twice our size! One thing I was always a sucker for was Wendy’s Baconator. But thankfully I’ve stayed away since my RNY! Also, poutine (fries, cheese curds & gravy). It’s a Canadian thing and it’s my weakness! Can’t say no to anything with cheese!
  3. I also had RNY with Dr. Illan back in October and I’m doing great! The man is honestly a Godsend!
  4. I went with Dr. Illan & BariatricPal in Tijuana. I had RNY but for the sleeve I think it’s somewhere around $4,500? It gives the exact price on their website. That includes transportation from SAN Diego airport & accommodations.

    Finally hit my goal

Oh my goodness!!! I haven’t salivated over another man other than my hubby in quite a while (well, except maybe the Winchester boys) but you sir look AMAZING!!! Congrats on reaching your goal weight! [emoji1417]

    Waking up after sugery

Bahahaha!!! I’m exactly the same. No pain from surgeries or nausea from anesthesia but I feel and act like I just smoked something [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I know I get angry when they wake me up because it’s a much better sleep than my normal sleeping patterns. My last surgery, RNY, apparently I was having the same conversations and asked the same questions for almost 24 hrs. I don’t remember a thing! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

    Crohns patient requirements

I’m soooo sorry you’re going through that! That doesn’t sound pleasant at all!

    Crohns patient requirements

While I don’t have Crohn’s I was diagnosed with ischemic colitis in 2013, which is very similar. I had a full RNY done in October 2017 and was scared how this would affect me. Mind you, I was used to the dumping syndrome. Oddly enough I have only had 1 flare up, which was 4-5 weeks post-op and in all honesty my fault. After that it’s been smooth sailing [emoji569]️

So Confuseled About the Bariatric Pal Facebook Group

I’m not really sure what you’re doing wrong? I would email Bill Yanez. Maybe he can help you out? It’s a great group to be a part of. I find more people are posting & commenting on there lately than on here [emoji4]

    Holidays and traveling?

You’re going to Europe! How exciting!!! I lived in Greece for 15 years but I’ve been to all those countries. Just some food for thought (pun intended lol) pasta in Italy is not the same as North Americans make it/see it. It’s a pre-appetizer served before the salad usually and very light on the sauce. So technically you only eat 1-2 forkfuls. That being said, the Italians make some mean veal and beef and lamb dishes, which is a great way to get your protein and don’t be afraid to try different things! Then there’s the French. They focus on quality, not quantity, so the portions will not be what we are used to in the US/Canada. I’m soooo jealous! I hope you enjoy your trip [emoji4]

    Scar Treatments

I’m currently trying Mederma. Not too crazy about it, doesn’t seem to be doing much. Before that I tried Dermatix. A bit on the pricey side but I feel it worked slowly. Will be switching back to that soon
  14. I second that! I used BariatricPal for my RNY and couldn’t have been happier with the staff and care I received! I wouldn’t think of any place else when the time comes for my plastics. I live in Canada and the costs here are horrendous, plus I KNOW I’ll receive better care at BariatricPal than any hospital here.
  15. Enjoy it while it lasts guys. The feeling of non-hunger only lasts for 3-4 months. I know it’s frustrating right now but soon enough you’ll look back fondly to the days you could survive off Protein Shakes & ice. I know I do! My best friends during the purée stage were the ricotta bake and sugar free pudding and apple sauce. I wasn’t allowed meat until 6-7 weeks into it and only soft pulled meats at best
