I am also a moderate diabetic, when I had my consult with the dr to discuss which surgery to get I was told that due to the malabsorption part of bypass it helps lower blood sugar within a few days to weeks before significant weight loss. That is why i like chose the bypass.

I am 5 weeks post op and so tired all the time. When will I get my energy back? I am so tired of being tired.

Rides at the fair, cute scrubs not big boxy scrubs that r available in my size, being comfy in seats at concerts, buying something sexy to wear to for my husband, finding gym cloths that fit and dont hang on me or squeeze me to death,taking less pills every morning, and having the energy to keep up with my 5 children, to play with them like i want to

I have quit carbonated drinks, trying to start not drinking when i eat (that not as easy as it sounds), also i work out 3 to 4 days a week...

I chose RNY because my surgeon told me tgat with my T2D that is what he recommends... because with RNY patients have significant reduction of insulin resistance b4 significant weight loss. Without T2D I would have prolly gone with sleeve.

My suggestion would be to be prepared to answer questions and reassure them that this is the best option for you. You might be pleasantly surprised.
I did not keep this a secret from anyone. I told everyone of any importance in my life and almost everyone has been amazingly supportive. My husband was a bit skeptical at first but once i explained it to him and he read some literature on it he has been totally on board. The only person who has been negative was my father in law and I just ignored him (he is always so negative anyway).

So happy for you... good luck!!! Mine is in 10 days. Not long now

I finally got the call... I am approved!!!! but i don't meet with the surgeon until Dec 6th. Thats when Ill get the date and it my not be until Jan but hey I am approved
