thank ya'll so much...

Try not to think about it too much. It comes and it goes. Almost 14 months out and I want to laugh at myself for how much I was in my head about it. You can do anything you put your mind to...especially when there is an end in sight.

It's no fun and it's hard. Very hard. But it's temporary, and you can do this. Take it a day at a time.

I am better today I have let myself get happy that I am approved but yes it is torture bc I will not have a date until Dec 6th... ugh but maybe Ill get lucky and will still get a date in Dec...

Oh man, that would be TORTURE for me! It doesn't even feel like you're approved and ready to go if they can't even give you a surgery date within the next month and a half At least you know that's it is going to happen FOR SURE lol just dig down for that extra scrap of patience!

It would be so awesome if y'all end up surgibuds! I have 3 wonderful ones myself. So nice bouncing ideas off someone that is at the same stage..

I finish my preop appts Friday but i cant meet my surgeon until my insurance is approved... Hopefully that will be next week... congrats on getting it done and I hope you Rule the would too....

Been there, got the t-shirt, and the t-shirt didn't even fit lol That was definitely one of my lowest moments too. Riding a roller coaster is on my list of things I can't wait to do once I start dropping some weight At least you'll have a great motivational story to share or even just reminisce on down the road.

Aww, [hugs].. I know it's horrible now, but you'll be grateful for the story in a few years!

Aww, sorry that happened. I haven't been on rides for years because I was so afraid thats what would happen. Someday, you will go back there and ride with no fear and replace that awful memory.

We have a Six Flags fairly close to us and my family has always had season passes, so my kids could go. I would just walk around because I haven't been able to fit on a Roller Coaster since 1999. It has always been my goal through every incarnation of weight loss attempts. My vsg was 10/26. I tried to ride the Batman two weeks before Christmas...no go. I was so defeated. The good news is that I have been on that mo fo at least 10 times this summer. Your time is coming.

Fantastic... I love Halloween... 1 of the things i look forward to is all the costume options when most of this weight is gone....

i started by finding out about my insurance then went to a seminar at the hospital that takes my insurance then scheduling for initial appt while I was there... I know most surgeons start with a seminar

Right?!? The thought of actually being able to just buy one of those costumes in a bag and not worrying about if it'll fit is such an exciting idea!

Kathleen, there is no doubt that you need help and are having a very tough time receiving it. First I must say you are a truly strong woman to have endured so much and here you are seeking guidance. Is the place you chose a Center of Excellence? I know you've already had surgery but many times finding the right bariatric doctor happens after surgery. There is nothing that says you can't do some research and find someone who does better with aftercare. They may be able to get you in touch with good counseling. Also, an in person support group may be a better option for you. I know being able to have people come along side you may be a better fit.

I lost 99 pounds (from 397 to 298) during my six month pre-op diet program. It was the best thing that happened to me. I completely re-defined my relationship with food before the surgery, and lost so much weight that post-op life was much, much easier. If you are losing, keep at it. You will thank yourself later for the hard work on the front end. Even now at 6'0", 185 pounds, I still think that if I hadn't done all of the pre-op work, I'd be at 285. It always makes me extra thankful for taking that approach.

The waiting is so hard. I have a 4month supervised diet for qualification (3mos + initial intake). My doc started thyroid meds + B1 supplementation and I'm losing so much easier now--like a normal person. BUT! I've never been able to reach goal on my own or maintain. So I have this demon on my shoulder saying, but you're now on meds...should you give it one more shot?? So complicated the waiting!

Mine still has it too, i am on month 4 of 6... it sucks
