LetGoJo reacted to XYZXYZXYZ1955 in Longest stall
My longest stall was five weeks or so. I *may* not have been entirely on point with my program during that time, but I was still eating relatively few calories and finding it frustrating that the scale didn't move. Eventually, however . . .

LetGoJo got a reaction from Rainbow_Warrior in Never Ending Comments About my Body
I haven’t got to that stage yet - but have decided that I will be making it clear it’s personal and won’t be discussing it. I work with older people in a residential setting and I know how they would love to talk my business. But I find it hard enough fitting in my tasks without having this level of conversation,

LetGoJo got a reaction from Rainbow_Warrior in Why can't I see my progress :(?
Me too ! I have lost 6.7 stone. I am going for a bra fitting on Saturday . I am sure that will make a big difference as I have extremely large bosum that is not correctly supported

LetGoJo reacted to JerseyJules in Why can't I see my progress :(?
You most likely will always see yourself as the person you once were. Im down to basically my goal weight and still dont see myself as others do. AllI can say is do split screen photos of your before and after...It will show then.

LetGoJo reacted to nativenm in Why can't I see my progress :(?
I have lost about 80 pounds and people are just now noticing. My pants still fit that I wore pre surgery. The problem is that they were tight then and really baggy now. I know I forget how tight they were. I went and tried on clothes and found I could wear smaller sizes. I also started setting non scale victories. I am able to walk a mile in 14 minutes. You are doing great! 50 pounds is amazing!!!

LetGoJo reacted to Berry78 in Let's Play Another Round of "How I Get My Protein" post WLS
You got it! The "players" change each day. Today it's a banana. Tomorrow, strawberries. Exchange chicken for salmon, etc. But the portion sizes stay pretty much the same.
The bowls holding the veggies will hold 8oz Water if filled to the brim, so my stomach is holding about a cup of food now, if it's soft.
The cloudy jar of liquid is coconut water.

LetGoJo got a reaction from Rainbow_Warrior in How often did/ do you vomit post-surgery?
I vomit at least 3 times a week - I am 3 months post sleeve, I sometimes vomit every meal - I think
The main cause is spicy food, trying to drink with food or that bite too much
-
LetGoJo reacted to dreamynow in How often did/ do you vomit post-surgery?
I have only vomited a few times. I got really hungry and ate too much Protein (chicken) too quickly. Sometimes my tummy needs a few minutes to know it’s full. One bite or two over my limit and I feel like it’s stuck and then I vomit.
I’m 9 weeks btw

LetGoJo reacted to Changing4TheBetter in Smoked weed yesterday and my surgery is friday!
I am a weed smoker because of my PTSD and anxiety from the military. When I did my hospital admit the nurse asked and I told her I was honest. She said that weed wouldnt be a tie breaker for my surgery. I have read numerous people post op say that weed did not hurt their surgery.

Panera bread is evil. They just sent me an email saying they're giving me a free bagel every day this month. Evil!

LetGoJo reacted to Introversion in Gained 2 pounds!!
chips are a slider food, a.k.a. slurry food. Other sliders include crackers, pretzels, biscuits, mashed potatoes, Cookies, and other snacky carb treats. You can eat an unlimited amount of sliders.
Sliders turn into a liquid slurry once you chew/swallow and don't stay in your stomach for more than a few seconds, so they'll never challenge your sleeve in a way that produces fullness or satiety.
You can eat a 1-pound bag of chips and never feel full.
Sliders also promote rapid weight gain because they 'slide' right through the stomach into the small intestine where the calories are readily absorbed and stored as fat.
You have an amazing tool in the form of your sleeve. If you continue to sabotage your body's weight loss efforts by eating junk foods and high-glycemic fruits so early in the game, then getting a sleeve may have been an ultimate exercise in futility.
Don't waste your tool. You can do this. Good luck to you.
