PrayingForWeightLoss got a reaction from madscientistmommy in July 2017 Sleevers
How are you doing 2017 sleevers? I was sleeved July 28, 2017. Weighed 233 lbs preop. Now weighing 158. My life has been totally transformed. I am now a workout junkie, eat so well and have reversed insulin resistance completely. I am in a happy place.

I has VSG in July last year and I have lost 70 pounds from 233lbs. I don't have much of saggy skin but I sometimes almost trip on my boobs when I am walking. I can't afford plastics so that's how I will live from now on. Like what most people are saying here, the health trade off is huge. I am almost to the point of losing 100% of my excess weight. I still would not trade that with firmer non-droopy boobs any day! I now eat healthy, exercise everyday and just feel so much happier with my life and my health.

That was so mean of her. I would have told her that I am happy that I have a big nose because I can't hurt anybody with it. Someone like this person has an ugly heart and that makes her hurt others with mean comments like that. I hope you lose the weight that you set to lose. It is your body and your choice. Congratulations that you chose to love yourself and have WLS.

No I don't miss being afraid of sitting on a plastic or fold up chair and being scared it will break. I don't miss the fear of trying the biggest size in the store and afraid that will not fit me. I don't miss waking 500 meters and fee like I am about to pass out.

It felt great to get out today and renew my gym membership it's just 25 a month! Getting my sweat on has been a go-to stress reliever for me for a long time, now I just need to not overdo it...oh look at all the shiny weights! I'm day 48 out and feel great.

I had 5 small incisions. The one next to the belly button is now invisible. The other 2 look like skin discoloration now more than scars. For me the single vs multiple incisions was not a decider for my choice of surgeon.

PrayingForWeightLoss got a reaction from Acts238girl in Married people....8 out of ten of us will get divorced within 2 years
The end of a marriage is often very saddening and can be devastating to some. For me, when I was obese, I had major (still have to some degree) body image issues. Since being sleeved and accompanying weight loss, I am as horny as horny could be. When I say , " I should have had this surgery sooner," my husband always adds, "Oh yeah, this should have been done 2 years ago." I say that because of the health benefits and him for sexual reasons. This surgery has brought intimacy back to our honeymoon stages. I hope we stay that way because I intend to grow old with him. farting and all.

I would say the preop diet was the hardest part of the sleeve journey for me. However, it has been worth the struggle. It does get better after about 3-5 days when your body goes into ketosis.

PrayingForWeightLoss got a reaction from sleeved2win in How does one get past the fear of having ANY bypass surgery?
I think the challenges you have looking after your loved ones should be the reason for looking into getting the surgery. They need you and you cannot be there for them if you start having obesity related illnesses. Obviously it will be a lot harder for you to go through the process with so much on your hands. Talk to a bariatric doctor and see how you go.

PrayingForWeightLoss got a reaction from Hector1982 in What Iron dosage do you take?
I had the sleeve and currently I just take the bariatric Multivitamin twice daily. My last Iron levels were slightly low. Will have more tests closer to my next appointment and the doctor said if I am lower, I might need an iron supplement.

If you are not having shakes then that's very reasonable. I couldn't have eaten this 6 weeks post op but I was still supplementing with 2 shakes per day. Being your only source of nutrition, that should make you meet your intake goals I think.
