  1. I'm really happy that even though you had the same thoughts as me you don't regret anything. Sounds like the surgery was definitely for you!

    Surgery due January 17th 2018

    CW 238
    GW 133

Definitely. The lady checking me I. At the hospital told me I didn't need surgery- I wasn't big enough. Big help (not) made me question it but I don't question it at all now!
    You'll do great. Good luck!

  2. If we don't face the emotional side of obesity and change the way we eat we will just put the weight back in. No amount of phenteramine will make you successful unless you plan on taking it forever and facing the mindset that got us here. I think it just takes some longer to get there than others or they may not get there at all. I know I've been emotionally eating for a couple of weeks and didn't realize it until a friend mentioned that she hoped I could get my comfort in another way than food. Then the light went on and I realized what I was doing. Thank God I didn't gain any weight back and now I'm trying to plan better Snacks and build time to walk into my day to help with the stress.
I saw my surgeon yesterday for my 6 month follow up- I asked about stretching the sleeve- the response was that you'd have to eat large meals consistently to stretch it significantly.
Bottom line - you have to know yourself and figure out what works for you. Why you sabotage yourself and what will work to end that sabotage. It's not going to be a quick fix.

  3. There's a post somewhere on here with the expected monthly weight loss based on your starting weight.
My surgeon told me 25 lbs the first month and 8-10 each month after that- so you are right on track. I'm 6 months out and if I average my weight loss since the start I've averaged 2 pounds a week- the dr says that's awesome and I am totally happy with it too.
Try to balance your expectations. The weight didn't go on overnight and won't come off overnight.

  4. Up until I checked into the hospital I wondered if I could do it on my own or if I had tried hard enough. I am 55 years old. I have dieted my whole life. Once I exercised an hour a day for 6 months lost 30 lbs only to put it all back on plus some. When I got over 200 lbs I started diet pills and tried to fit in exercise. When my health started going down hill too fast I knew I wasn't going to do it in my own or I would have already. This surgery is the best thing I have ever done for myself. My health is better- I feel better than I ever have. It is not the easy way out but was the only way out for me. Wasn't cosmetic, was essential.

  5. What!!!! That is amazing. Congrats on your weight loss and new life!

Yeah, we have bcbs of Virginia but live in Colorado so they didn't even make me do the long diet before hand. I had to have a nutrition consult and a psych consult and that was it. I feel totally blessed!!! I didn't even have any copay. The hospital finance person said she had never seen that before- I got the explanation of benefits and added them all up-more than $46000!
So thankful for this new life.

  6. I started looking into it it in feb 2017 and had surgery in June 2017. Definitely was a good experience for me! I'm almost 6 months out and 51 lbs down. I was a low bmi compared to most and am very happy with my results so far!

  7. You sound a lot like me. I told only a few people- not all of my immediate family. In my fam only my hubby and one of my children know. At work I have told my boss and a couple of folks that I know struggle with weight- I didn't want to feel like a liar or like I was bragging.
But I do want to encourage people I know struggle with weight.
I just tell myself it's really no ones business but mine so who I share it with is also my business!

  8. This topic touched me so much and made me both angry and sad all in one...The issue touched home so much with the topic of addiction, that I decided to address it in one of my new videos. I honestly hope nothing I said in this video offends the original poster in any way, Im honestly trying to help by sharing my experiences and give some advice,My intent is not to scold you. Please if I can be of any assistance feel free to message me or contact me, we can get you back on track. PS I named it the "cheesburger fairy", for a joking spin on accountability...

Great video! I have been stress eating the past couple of weeks because of family problems- watching your video woke me up! I ate about 10 Hershey cherry kisses last night and felt like crap. Thanks for your honest direct video. Today is our work Christmas celebration with a spread out all day to graze. So far I'm making better choices. Getting back on track before I put on an ounce!

  9. Yesterday I got a goal of -50 lbs down ! The last 10 pounds were so slow coming off because I let some bad habits creep back in. I've been back on track for the last week. Excited to see the next 25 come off. I have a goal in my head of 148- doc says I can get to 135, but I have my doubts.
