briddle got a reaction from jenpa in Almost 60 and getting sleeve on 4/24/18
Welcome. I was almost 68 when I had my gastric sleeve August 2017, along with gallbladder removal, hiatal hernia repair and regular hernia repair. It wasn't bad, I stayed 2 nights in the hospital. The worst problem was at home sleeping in bed just didn't work. I sleep in a recliner for at least a week. Pain wasn't too bad either.

briddle got a reaction from jess9395 in Question about hiatal hernia
I too had the sleeve, hiatal hernia repair, gallbladder removal and regular hernia repair at the same time. None of them were that bad although any pain I did have I couldn't tell you which was which pain.

I agree you will definitely need someone with you when you leave the hospital and perhaps to pick up a prescription or two. Get your supplies in beforehand and other than leaving the hospital and maybe picking up a prescription you will be fine.

I w 68 when I had the gastric sleeve, hiatial hernia repair, hernia repair and gallbladder removal. The only things I needed people for was picking up a prescription and pick up and drop off at the hospital. Otherwise I did it all on my own. My family is all out of state but I wouldn't have wanted anyone there anyway.

briddle got a reaction from march1 in Coffee after surgery: days, weeks, months?
I had a gastric sleeve and could have Decaf coffee right away. Unfortunately it did not agree with me. I waited 2 more months and tried regular coffee and it still didn't agree with me. I keep trying every few weeks. For now I am drinking tea which is ok but I want my coffee back!

briddle got a reaction from Creekimp13 in Advil? Tylenol?
Nothing else but advil works for my arthritis so my doctor is allowing it. I was only supposed to take omeprazole for 6 months but if I take advil he suggests just continuing with the omeprazole for as long as I take advil.

briddle got a reaction from FluffyChix in Taking vitamins makes me nauseous!
I am almost 3 months post sleeve and have been having lots of problems with the Vitamins. For me one problem was the multiple vitamins. I have tried several brands and all made me nauseous. I just tried Centrum liquid and so far so good on that one. I was also having trouble with the one that was composed of Calcium, magnesium and something else. I am now using Citracal instead. My doctor also recommended a liquid one called Bluebonnet. I haven't tried that since Citrcal seems to work for me. Try and narrow it down and see it one or more is making you sick.
