GL, I feel like a hammer has hit me on the head. Sunday's 24 h shift was beyond awful and one day of recovery is not nearly enough. I hate that jet lag feeling I often have after these shifts. Everyone deals with it but I doubt something's going to change.
I'm leaving at the end of December. No more of this **** after that. Time to bring in the new **** then though, lol.

Weight loss stalled after 6 weeks help

Home from Jesse Brown VA Medical Ctr in Chicago, surgery was on 7/21, they kept me in ICU the entire time. First 2 days were rough on me, my breathing was shallow & my heartrate was lower than they liked. Day 3 was easier, but they kept me 1 more day, day four (today) made the over 350mi ride home, over 6hrs. Stopped a few times to walk, go to the bathroom(#1). Still on clear liquid diet, boy those sugar free popsicles sure taste good. Crushed ice has been my fav too. I am sipping on water, broth, sf Gatorade & sf jello as instructed. Holding a pillow on my tummy helped along with walking, they sent me home wearing a binder, that was a godsend along with a pillow, it softened the seatbelt and rough spots in the road. Doing ok, Boy, was my trip home miserable, my husband b*****d at me for every & anything, said this surgery was elective & is bogus, said he was disgusted with me & wanted to divorce me. He also loaded up on a dbl qtr pounder, fries & soda infront of me, I had no desire for his food, thank god, but that wasn't nice of him! This journey has really made me determined to stand up for my self when I recover. We've been together for 34yrs, since we were 17yo, but his words & actions today hurt the most. I know I have to stand strong & do what is best for me, even without his support.

Today is the one year anniversary of my surgery. Woo hoo! 91kg & a BMI of 35.1 down to 51kg & a BMI of 19.7. I’ve been maintaining my weight for about two months now after dropping 9kg more than I was intending as I sorted out my maintenance plan. But I’m not complaining.
i was fortunate before my weight loss & did not have the serious health issues of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, sleep apnoea, etc. usually associated with obesity but I’m sure they were in my future.
Now I dash around & about, go up & down stairs, play with my young nieces & nephews & live my life without breathing heavily or tiring quickly.
My hair is growing back. My BMs are 95% regular. My face doesn’t look as gaunt & lined as it did. I could do without the boney butt, ribs, knee, ankle & wrist pain but it’s small price. And I’ve decided my loose skin is like a badge of honour for my weight loss.
I’m very much looking forward to the next part of my journey.

Yay! Finally hit onederland! My weight loss was stalled for a couple of weeks but the last week or so it has been moving again. Because I'm tracking in kilos I didn't actually realize that I am now under 200 pounds. I'm so happy! Next goal to hit, probably this week, is for my BMI to hit the lowest obesity level (class I). After that I'll be gunning for just overweight, but that probably won't happen until summer, provided I can keep from snacking during all this working from home!

Had an awful early dumping today. Mean thing about this: it was the same food combo I ate yesterday without problems.

Going for my revision to bypass tomorrow. Feeling a little nervous but also laidback at the same time. Pre-op diet was different to what I did three years ago, but I guess there is no one right way to do things. Here’s hoping all goes well!

Finally! A milestone! As of today I've lost 101 pounds before my 6 month anniversary! Whooo!

I have a surgery date, I have my next doctor appointment on Wed and then Thursday I start my 2 week liquid pre-op diet. I am very nervous right now. I know it's going to be a tough mind game.
