Which part are you afraid of? The surgery itself, lifestyle afterwards or something else? I don’t know about your experience, but for me the repeated lumbar punctures for IIH (plus the ever looming possibility blindness) were far worse than surgery. Good luck on your next appointment!

I think we are all eating the same stuff. I’ve had way more cherries this summer than ever before. And my BF just had smoked salmon. A scratch made Belgian waffle! I made it with Greek yogurt and collagen powder. Anyone else taking collagen? How do you hide/incorporate it? I usually add it to a Chai latte or London fog. -
I think a lot more people are using them than will admit it openly. There’s still a lot stigma around obesity treatment outcomes. Whatever your choice please don’t be afraid to tell your team when you start a new medication.

Congratulations! Only advice I can think of is to request your medication prescriptions at the preop appointment and fill them that day so you won’t have to wait. I had very good experiences and received great care during my stays at recovery houses in MIA. -

I use Benadryl for acute allergic reactions. Oddly my lifelong seasonal allergies disappeared about 8yrs ago for no reason at all.

It was about a year for me to be back to normal, but only about 3 months until I was no longer worried about wound healing or infections. BTW I am female but my procedure is very Similar with what you are having done. -

I had an easier recovery with RNY vs VSG as well but did experience stricture (easily resolved) early on. GERD was resolved almost immediately. Not much hair loss but that’s really individual based. Constipation is always a concern but that’s what stool softeners are for and fully expect to need assistance with that long term. It’s been 4 yrs since revision (6 since VSG) and once you get into a routine life feels really normal. -
