I am happy to answer any questions.

    From 356 to 207lbs.

Who is a happy boy? That would be me. Best decision I've made in my life. Healthier, more confident, better family and social life. Thumbs up all around from moi.
Loose skin, hell yeah, does it bother me, not really. It's part of the package.

Love y'all, sorry I have not been around a while. I have a life now ;)

Rice is something I don't enjoy a year out so I definitely would not want to do it early on. We all tend to react to foods differently, but for many of us rice is a no-go food. It doesn't sit well with me and honestly you get nothing from it. My wife got me onto riced cauliflower. It at least has the constancy of rice and if you doctor it up can taste just as good. As far as the regular stuff goes I’d avoid it.

How doth you doctor it up?

Today marks one year since I have been sleeved. It was quite the journey.

    SW: 316

CW: 172.3 (I weigh myself weekly because I've been eating too many damn carbs lately. Sorry I'm not perfect and idc if you judge me!)

    Measurements: 32-27-40

No plastic surgery has been done YET lol!

Went out to eat with my mother today as she was the only one who stuck by my side with this surgery, my only support. I couldn't love and thank her enough.

I run the turkey day 5K each year since surgery. It's my new Thanksgiving tradition. The holiday is not all about the food anymore. It's family and friends, being thankful, living life and having new experiences.

Not having a food coma every year is an amazing feeling. No weight gain guilt.;)

Food plan: turkey, steamed french green Beans with bacon and sliced almonds, roasted pumpkin, cranberries and apple. Desert is dannon light n fit pumpkin pie yogurt with 2 oz vanilla halo top ice cream.

I plan ahead at potlucks. I bring deviled eggs or a meat and cheese plate. I make sure there is something I can eat.

I pack my meals for work with healthy sweet and salty options.

I have done the Exercise at the Gym before and yes it did become obsessive. 6 to 7 days a week, plus I worked and still had 1 child at home. But...not this time. I started walking right after my RNY. I started slow but I did walk every day. I now walk 3 to 4 times a week and I go 3 to 4 miles. I call it my attitude adjustment. I can be in a Pi**y mood before I go and by the time I get home my whole outlook is better. I think my walking has been my saving grace. Like I said I still love to get out there and walk it off!! My opinion is you don't need to go thru a gym at all. Just get up and move!! BTW I also sing and dance with my music blasting while I clean house. Any kind of movement is great!!

  6. It's a definite mind and body reconditioning for sure, but for me, it was the best decision to make.

I am 4 months out. I am eating "regular" food, but it's not the same experience food was in the past. I like that I have to consider what I'm putting in me, and I eat so little that it's almost a zen-like experience everytime I eat. I have to go slowly and deliberately, think about the taste and texture, make sure it sits well after I chew and swallow. Weird when you've been conditioned to shovel something down. I can't drink liquids and eat at the same time at all.

But it's all good though. I'm not hungry and don't waste time thinking about eating or the next time I'm gonna eat.

I walk a lot and enjoy it. That's new. I feel better. I forget still that I can probably do things now that were just a burden to me before. Like were going to a neighborhood trick or treat the other night and in the past I was always tired of walking but i wasnt at all.

I love putting on smaller clothes. I feel better going out.

As of this morning I am down 76lbs from where I was right before I started the pre surgery regimen. That's not chump change.

So yeah, there are a few things that are downsides but they're mostly mental and they can be worked out.

I'll post pics at 6 months
