DedicatedLady got a reaction from SampTheChamp in I stay HORNY all the time!
It has made my day to read this I swear, that comic is amazing. I didn't realize this topic was in the mens discussion room. Holy fkn funny.I'm not sure if this happens to women, but if it does I don't know how I could actually be hornier. I'm 30 so I'm already in my sexual prime. If the situation was backwards, I sure wouldn't change my partner if he couldn't keep up, I'd just make him watch ahaha ok ok back to work, somehow supposed to concentrate..

    You're right, she won't last 2 hours..she's going to last 8!
I have surgery Thursday and back to work Monday. Every case is different, job, movement, empathy from employers etc. I'm also in a situation where if I don't work I don't get paid. There are no replacements for my position that can "take over" while I'm gone either. My mortgage isn't going to pay itself. I won't feel guilty if I make it home and spend all night on the couch/bed, but work has to be done or I wont have a couch/bed to heal in, feel me?

DedicatedLady got a reaction from confusedturtle3 in Do they always go in laparoscopic?
Not always, sometimes through the navel only,
Perhaps like a bypass when sometimes they do the old fashioned way where they cut you from the belly button to the chest line and open you up like you're a miniature box of Cereal
(In honesty I would get a surgeons opinion, laparoscopic is the least intrusive way to go as far as I know, anyones pictures will show how minimal the scarring is, and look very impressive)

DedicatedLady got a reaction from KarenOR in Recreational marijuana usage post Gastric Sleeve surgery
I've also been curious on this myself.I'm from Canada so people and cops don't really seem to care, just don't be stupid, if you see a cop driving down the alley, put out/away your joint as a courtesy haha . I have a prescription so I order it online and it shows up via CanadaPost to my door 2 days later(awesome to be totally honest). Bud or edible oil format. I've never found marijuana to make me hungry, it makes me too busy to stop and eat. The oil however, was absolutely delicious so a few times I've stopped at the bakery on my way home since I've found it goes best with a sweet pastry (absorption is also better)..However the delicious edible oil makes me hungry, so I've stopped eating my THC but smoke and have never lied to a doctor or surgeon about it. When my life is in someone elses hands for a while, I like them to know the whole story.
Oh PLUS a breach in patient doctor confidentiality is considered medical malpractice! . I'm headed for surgery in 3 weeks and don't necessarily plan on stopping when I fly back so I'll try and remember to update on this post about any effects of smoking right away.

DedicatedLady got a reaction from mpolyard in Pain when taking in liquids
I had this type of issue, about ten or so seconds after I drank liquids there was a pain on my right side. I noticed it the first night post op. When I took my barium swallow the next day, I watched the screen and saw that my pain was happening when liquids went from stomach to small intestine. My intestine was full of gas and was swollen and was causing the pain. I asked specifically about my pain and he said anywhere up to two weeks I could retain gas. Just my story, thought I'd share hope yours gets better

Ooh ooh story - I didn't have a great surgery experience with pills. We even had a small,uh, "argument" about it. I take 8x300mg tablets, and 5x10mg tablets at once, right before bed. Preop I literally took them all at once with a giant chug of Water and then about a cup of water to follow. Moving forward, surgery day-I have to give my nurses my medication dose for the day, then they pass it to me before bed like I'm in a psych ward. That evening the 'lead nurse' comes in, is staring at my pills right before passing them over like there's not a chance. So she starts walking away and I stop her to ask immediately where she's going?! She replied that she was going to "crush them for me".... Were talking 2400mg of slow release anticonvulsants. Honest to goodness, she could google "Trileptal" (its for epilepsy) and it specifics first thing 'Do NOT crush, Do NOT break in half, Do NOT chew".. We argued back and forth for not less than 20 minutes. I more or less took them and told her where to go. I'm 1 week post op, I struggle with liquids still so I take them in pairs or groups of 3, no timing or anything, just within like a half hour period-ish...
Back on topic - My Multivitamin and CA+D3 go down like butter with a sip of Protein Shake.

-make sure there's no crap food in the house
-even if I stop at the chip aisle he'll say "do we need those" to which I pout and answer no.

One of the most helpful things is that he understands I can and am going to be emotional about random crap, he knows when to just listen to me be upset with some encouraging words, and when to just hug me and tell me that I'll get over my stall and that it's not the end of the world.
I also do my best to be in a very happy mood when I'm with him, because he does so much for me. I've only once had to deal with pizza leftovers in the house.
I guess that's another one, we don't eat out anymore, it has saved us a lot of money and saved me agony of not being able to eat anything. He's also lost like 10lbs in the process(didn't need to lose any!) haha

    ^ this ^... not helpful.
Lets not project your own insecurities and struggles onto others.
This journey isn't a one size fits all. So calm yourself.
I don't get why people are so quick to judge and assume on here.... find yourself a hug.

I was sleeved July 10. Feeling great, but I'm in the dreaded 3 week stall. I haven't lost an ounce in a week. I'm trying not to let it get me down because a lot of people experience this. *I will not complain. *I will not complain. *I will not complain.

Don't do situps 2 weeks postop. A hernia is the last thing you want! 6 weeks of just walking! In a couple months, you can go nuts in the gym.
Yes, you'll lose strength and muscle tone, but those things will come back quickly once you get back in the gym. No worries! Take this time to learn about your new tummy, and heal up. You just had major surgery!
