I went through the same thing! I kept complaining to my husband and I'm not losing weight, I'm not losing weight, why not? LOL! Then all of the sudden I dropped like 15 pounds. It will happen, be patient! I'm over a year out now and I'm at Michael way and I'm a happy camper. I've been able to maintain my weight very well. So keep on keeping on! Do what you're supposed to do and the weight will just melt away. I promise!

This same thing happened to me. I started my walking as soon as I got released from the Hospital. We had to stay at a Motel for the 1st week because we lived 100 miles away. So I started walking at the Motel. I continued to keep at it for all of my 4 years. With very few days missed, if something came up and I couldn't go for my walk it literally made me depressed and upset. I have just noticed that I am ok if I have something come up and can't go for my "ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT"!! Let me say this...my whole life I have lived with the state of mind be it diets or exercise just about anything I have done, I have been an over-doer. I call it (please don't be offended) BALLS TO THE WALL OR NOTHING!!! But...just a few days ago while we were chatting here, I realized I'M OK!!! I don't have to become OCD about this. I can miss a walk. This was an huge eye opener for me. I am 61 YO and just have come to realize I don't have to walk 7 days a week. It is very liberating if I do say so myself. I just wanted to share a little bit about my balance.

You must be so thrilled! You look amazing and I'm sure you feel so much better physically and emotionally.

Sometimes this process happened so quickly that I feel like my head is spinning. Do you ever feel that way? It's like, not too long ago, I was really really heavy, and in a short amount of time relatively, I'm not having any more. It's surreal isn't it?

It's a journey filled with excitement, disappointments along the way, nausea, Elation, you name it and we go through it!

It certainly isn't the easy way out, but it is an amazing surgery, no matter what type you choose, with amazing results and hopefully life-changing ones.

Congratulations on the new year and many many years of Health ahead of you. God is good, yes?

I was a little slow getting started after my gastric bypass after 3 weeks I had lost 17 lb and I was a little disappointed. Am I doctor asked me when was the last time you lost 17 lb in 3 weeks! And that made me feel silly! Consequently, the next week I lost 10 lb! One night I had to pee like 6 times during the night and I felt like I was losing weight during those hours! And I actually was! I weighed myself each time after I went to the bathroom and the scale went down every hour!

You will find that you will lose a bunch of weight and then it'll level out for a while and then you'll lose a bunch of weight again. I'm 3 months post-op now and have lost 51 pounds! I had to buy all new clothes already and I still have weight to lose of course!

My weight loss has a pattern to it. You may find that yours will as well.

Everybody told me not to wait every day but I can't help it! However I do understand all of the factors involved and like someone else said it is interesting to see what does cause a little bit of Water retention, bloating, Etc. I think that helps us to be more aware of what foods are good weight loss foods and what foods may not be.

Hope this helps! Just hang in there and relax and let this wonderful process do its thing!

He was going to Austin for a rehab facility. Has stopped going to AA. He was doing crystal followed by downers to go to sleep - that way the people he was with wouldn't know he was twacked out. He tripped over a fan and his heart stop. He was found he next day dead.
He went to AA from 16 to 20 something... I tagged along - everyone has problems of some sort. He died when we were 25. I knew him so well that we didn't need to talk to have a conversation.
But again, if you were going to AA, get out and find a meeting TODAY. Call your sponsor - ask him to go with you. YOU need support now more than ever. Giving up an addiction is hard.. Giving up food is harder - it's not like you can practice abstinence.
But their are mental problems associated with obesity just like and addiction... You need the support. You need a release, and DON'T LET DRUGS BE THAT RELEASE.

That’s how I lost 230 pounds lol, got rid of my man. 21 years of abuse was enough. I’ve been a single parent for 4 years. I’d rather be single then have a man that doesn’t support me.

Sweetie, this is totally normal. Your body has been through an incredible amount of trauma. Your hormones are raging. This happens to many people post surgery. It happened to me. I was either crying hysterically, seething angry or laughing like crazy. It changed constantly and for no reason. I really thought something was wrong with me but I found out that after WLS these hormonal feelings are super common. Unfortunately, this is something many surgeons never warn us about so it hits us so hard. For me, the emotional issues post surgery was probably the worst part. I was such a mess. It lasted for a couple of weeks.

You’re going to be okay. This is going to pass. I promise. It’s one day at a time. Sometimes it’s just one minute at a time. You focus on getting through the next minute. That’s all you have to worry about right now. One minute at a time.

I know you’re upset and in pain but try to get some rest. Sip liquids as much as you can when you’re awake and try to sleep whenever possible. You’ve been through a lot. Give yourself a break. This is going to get better, I PROMISE you.

As of October 12, 2017, I am 4 months post op and have lost 100 pounds. I have reached my goal weight and could not be more ecstatic!

Hello I don't know your background know your situation and I'm actually new to this app I just want you to know that you're beautiful never let anyone steal your joy remember you did this for a reason one to make your life better to be healthy and to make a change today is just one day but as the days progress you'll feel better and remember this is only temporary yes it's sad that you have no support system at this time but instead of that being your downfall let it be your motivation because when it's all said and done remember he's just your boyfriend he's not your husband and I say this because when you look fantabulous he's going to be looking back groveling for you to take him back you are your keeper and remember put God first and just pray about it he will see you through it I went through the same thing with my boyfriend and I let him know how I felt and he changed maybe you should discuss how you feel with your boyfriend so to see if he can be more empathetic towards your pain and your feelings have a great day and I'm always here if you need me just to vent from 1 sleever to the next may God continue to bless you on your journey

Yes this is true that's why I said tell him u need his help/support. He could just not being doing anything cause he don't know any better. If after u tell him he stays the same that's when u know u really need to reevaluate yur relationship. He could think u got the surgery to get smaller to leave his ads and he's resentful. Haha. I'm a guy I know how we think sometimes

In the first three months I had kick ass weight loss then at the end of 3 months things really slow down and I thought I was stuck. The scale just wouldn't budge no matter what! Right about that time I also twisted my ankle and fell so I couldn't go to the gym for 2 weeks. I was freaked out because I thought two weeks without the gym would even make things worse.

However, after a two to three-week so-called stall, or no weight loss, then two weeks of not being able to go to the gym I lost 8 pounds! I think not going to the gym 6 days a week and pushing like crazy was the key. So now I'm down 10 pounds!

At 4 weeks yesterday I have lost a little over 60 lb and am 10 lbs from goal! I think I'm going to lower my goal weight now that I'm so close to it.

I definitely could handle losing another 15 lb instead of 10. I was fortunate that I did not have hundreds of pounds to lose so I'm getting to go very quickly.

I'm thrilled with the process so far. I'm still having trouble getting all my food in. I haven't been able to eat as many meals per day as I would like to. And I am getting nauseous still after I eat.

I know it takes time and I am patient and have all the time in the world!

Usually, I order a latte with a sugar free Syrup (of which they have quite a few) and skim milk. My goto is sugar free vanilla latte with skim - hot or iced. I have been known in the morning to get two shots of espresso in a large cold cup with ice and then I pour in a caramel Premier Protein pre-mixed shake. (That's a go to Breakfast when I'm out of town and on the road. You can do that with the chocolate or vanilla premix as well.)
The coconut milk and almond milk they use is sweetened, so I just stick with skim.
