SassyOne2 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Revision from sleeve to mini bypass 8/2/2019
I’m so nervous for my revision surgery! It’s scheduled in just a couple weeks. If you’ve done this- how much different is the post-op experience? I have terrible GERD, and have had only a small amount of weight loss.

That is one of the best questions so far! I think I'm going to stick to smoking (I'm only 3 days post op).

SassyOne2 got a reaction from Okie75 in Low BMI - VSG 6/2 (panicking!)
I just had my surgery in Mexico three days ago. I only told a handful of people and they all had reactions. I am the heaviest I have personally ever been and have lost weight many many times only to regain it. I needed a final solution. Pre surgery I was panicking and even wanted to cancel the flight and procedure! However it's over now, and we'll see how the recovery goes.

Nope, I just started with low dosage low-sugar options. I like this sugar free tea I get from my dispensary. I'll try to remember the name.
I found no issues with getting high post recovery. But it's important to be aware of munchies and prep yourself. I always eat before I smoke a doob or take an edible. I also constantly drink Water so I don't feel hungry.
I think your tolerance and years of use matter as well. If you didn't use it much before hand, go even lighter now. If you were a heavy user before you will probably have no issues getting back into the game.
Just go for the strains that are geared to happiness/anti-depression. Cause, you know, it's just more fun. hahaha

I waited until maybe 5-6 weeks post-op. To avoid the possibility of dumping, get an edible with a very high THC content, and only have a teeny bit. My go-to is a chocolate, but because it has so many milligrams of THC, I only need about a pinky-nail sized amount. For the brand I use, this is about 0.8 grams of sugar.
Another great option is to use a tincture. They can be either alcohol-based or glycerin-based. Although, tinctures work by absorbing into the bloodstream via the mouth, and therefore work more quickly than edibles.

OH my gosh. I feel you! I am on day three of my liquid pre-op diet, and feel like I am dying. I didn't think it was actually possible for me to go this long without actually eating. I'm not joking. I once fasted for three hours and thought that was the hardest thing. We've got this!! We are worth it!!!

And I'm high as a frickin' kite lol. Thank goodness for Dilaudid
No nausea, none! I walk every three hours, breathe into a tool once an hour, breathing exercises in between. Pee pretty good, and then I feel like I was kicked by a ninja on my solar plexus.
Gotta love the gas they pump into ya!
But the staff have has been so so incredibly amazing. Everybody is so kind at the Desert Springs Medical Center. They look after me and think I'm pretty amazing due to my high spirits, though I ache like a mofo.
My head hurts from the drugs too.
I've managed all my chicken broth, lots of Water, half a Jell-O cup. Not bad.
I can't wait to go home tomorrow and sleep in my own bed. I can't wait to start losing more weight. So many "I can't waits."
This will be the hardest and easiest thing I've ever done on my life, funny how that works.
    Update:
Feeling really strong now, was able to make my bed, do two laps around hospital floor, bathe myself with towelettes effortlessly.
I feel very energetic, wondering how normal that is, to feel so happy and active when I see others looking so glum and miserable. Poor things, I can understand it though.
Not tired at all, even when taking dilaudid. When the drug wears off, minimal pain. I was so concerned I worried he didn't give me the sleeve, but found out he indeed did lol
    Signing off,
    Mbird

SassyOne2 got a reaction from Melena68 in May Sleevers?
My surgery is scheduled for May 26th. In Tijuana, Mexico. I get super nervous and super excited. I've never had any surgery before, so that part is what I am nervous about.
