Redo2017 got a reaction from kjuno in One Year Today
I had VSG one year ago today. Best decision of my life. I’m down 98 pounds since surgery and 112 pounds since the start of my pre-op diet. Weight day of surgery was 252. Today I am 154. It took me 9 months to lose the weight and I’ve been maintaining between 151 and 156 for the past three months. While I’d like to get below 150, maintaining in the range I am in has been a breeze. Plus, I am at a healthy BMI. I was so hesitant to go through this process. I was border line diabetic, had sleep apnea, chronic back pain, and low energy. I was afraid of the unknowns of VSG, but I refused to let fear make the decision for me. I want to encourage anyone like me to choose VSG. Maybe some day I’ll get the courage to post before and after pics!

Like many previous posters, I sell and buy clothing on eBay. It’s been expensive rebuilding my casual and work wardrobes now that I’m at goal, but I’ve managed to save a lot finding new/gently used items on eBay.

Things that are new or in very good condition sell well on eBay, especially in plus sizes. I have been buying and selling stuff on there for at least 15 years. I recommend using Paypal to receive all the payment which makes it easy. You can then use the Paypal balance (not just on eBay) to buy new pretty clothes...it is almost like exchanging things that are too big for things that are the right size.

I’m nine months post-op tomorrow. Someone called me “tiny” today. First time I’ve been called that in a non-ironic way! Very strange to hear and difficult to comprehend.

Hey guys!
It was a rough month...had gallstones and had to get my gallbladder removed. 2 surgeries and one week stay in the hospital. April sucked!
Anyways! My surgery is coming up on 10 months post op next week. I’m down 70lbs. Highest weight: 228lbs. Today:158lbs. Fluctuating between 158-161lbs. Almost at my goal weight just 15 more lbs. I want to get to goal by my 1 year mark.
Here’s some progress pics over the last month I took....

Ha! I said the same. Can’t call me skinny until I am a “normal” weight. Darn BMI!

Hi there @Redo2017 My starting weight was 228, today I am 165. I haven't been the best with my diet and I do not exercise. Down 63 lbs though.

Redo2017 got a reaction from Healthy_life2 in Nine Months Post-Op Gastric Sleeve
Today marks 9 months post op for me. Down 113 pounds from high weight and 98 pounds from surgery weight. Weighed in at 153.9 pounds this morning and finally at a normal BMI. This process has been a gift and I cannot express how much better I feel. No more achy joints or sleep apnea. I feel good about the way I look for the first time in a long time. I am still learning to moderate as I introduce some limited sweets and whole grains into my diet. I’m hoping to drop another 10 pounds and aim to maintain my weight under 150. For those of you just starting your journeys, stick to your doctor’s plans and you will be amazed by the results! I was very worried about long term success and I still fear backslides, but I feel more confident about long term success with each passing day. Stay strong in this fight, everyone! You can do it!
