    Concerned about Energy and Complications

I'm almost 3 weeks post op and I feel awesome! I'm so glad I did this. My legs have already stopped hurting when I walk. I'm so looking forward to the future and being able to run a 5K very soon! This is very exciting and just wonderful.

    Struggling...

Let it go. Give up those kicks you're giving yourself! It happens. The thing is realizing it immediately, letting it go and getting right back up again. Don't let this give you a failing feeling. Just" keep making good changes and do the best you can" !! You SO got this!

Omg! You're an inspiration! Thank you so much. My knees are not so good but I know once the weight is off of them I'll be just like you! See, it's a story like yours that gets me uplifted and excited to do things I haven't been able to do in years and years. Bless you for your positive story. And congratulations on a great loss and wonderful attitude!

Extremely good thoughts in your reply, thank you. What will I be like in 10 years w/out the sleeve? Good point. I'll be overweight, obese, hurting and like you said possibly heart disease/diabetes. I appreciate that your reply made me think. Thank you!

    Concerned about Energy and Complications

Thank you! I've high BP and high cholesterol. I'm so glad for your response. I'm just plain afraid. I already take omeprazole daily because of GERD and I tend towards constipation. I'm afraid of regrets. I've some heavy things to weigh out and see how the scale balances. I so appreciate your response. Blessings and Peace!
  7. Hello everyone. I'll be having my sleeve surgery in August. I'm concerned about low energy and the horror stories I've been reading on the complications forum. I'm so worried I'll have complications and no energy according to some of the posts I've read. I'm a healthy 62 year old woman but I've had issues in the past from a laparoscopic gall bladder removal. It subsequently lead to 3 more hernia repair surgeries. I do want the sleeve so I can have a good quality of life in my golden years, and not sit around and end up in a wheelchair because of my weight. I weigh 237 now, started at 243. Weight just sticks to me. So I'm motivated but fearful. I suppose I need to stay away from the complications forum all together. Any thoughts? I sure could use some positive vibes about now. Thank you to all.

    Regrets and anxiety

Hi there. I hope you're feeling better. I read your post and could feel your anxiety. I suggest you take their advice to heart and talk to a therapist. I've had depression most of my life and I'm pre op right now with surgery due most likely in August. With having depression for so long, I know how to help myself and I do see my therapist. Believe me it helps a lot. You may need to take an anti-depressant to get you over this hump. I wish you well and will say prayers for you! I send healing and joyful thoughts. Blessings and Peace--

    Slippage of sleeve

I'm having VSG soon and I already have GERD. What does this Duke University Study mean? I take omeprazole daily and have no issues, but now it concerns me that it may get worse post surgery, RNY does not appeal to me so what do I do to avoid getting GERD that's worse after the sleeve? Thanks for any help!
