First problem, required but not covered?

I also have Aetna Better Health Medicaid because I'm on SSI because of bipolar issues and I would say to call and ask who your case manager is and speak to them only this way you have one person responsible for getting you approved. I only had to pay 30.00 for my first initial nutrition class and after that my next five classes were only 15.00 my paperwork went to the insurance on the 18th of April. I have called them but I have not received a call back yet but I'm determined to harass them if I have to, all my tests, appointments, and doctor approvals are all in order and perfect so I expect them to take this as serious as I do and do their job. They've been really good so far and I've had an in depth conversation with my caseworker and I feel they are pretty well aware of what I expect. I'll keep you posted. VGS and Bipolar Meds

I don't understand why when I post questions on here and no one answers any of the questions I am asking isn't that what these forums are for?
  5. I've had acid reflux so bad that now i take a 40mg capsule every day, don't know if my VSG will stop it or not. I was not given the choice of surgery I could have. My surgeon said I should get the sleeve and he's the top surgeon and Director of the Metabolic department at Loyola Hospital in Maywood so I trust his decision, also I take meds for bipolar which is why he said the sleeve would be best.

Is it just me or does anyone else have "hollow" days?

It's hard to say no to our favorite foods but I can't imagine eating all the same foods that got me into this condition in the first place. I never want my body to look like this ever again and I know I will not eat crap after surgery because I am stronger than any food addiction and I can just say no to food like I did to drugs 7 years ago on April 13th, when I gave up drugs I turned to food and I can fight this food addiction the same way, ONE DAY AT A TIME.

    Which surgery??

Sounds awesome to me, I'm also having the sleeve because I need meds for my bipolar issue. Just waiting for insurance approval. I'm getting antsy and I'm gonna be all over my insurance company to get my surgery done.

    Family event

I think the emotional eating or the understanding if we are really hungry or not really is a big problem for me, that and I believe my other eating disorder is binge eating. Does the surgery help that?

3 weeks from surgery, fear and doubts!

Thanks for sharing, my paperwork went to the insurance company last Friday and I've been having alot of anxiety ever since I finished my last nut appointment. I'm really happy to hear that there are no regrets.

    Protein Shakes

Premier protein shakes are the best so far and advanced body fortress powder from Wal-Mart is also pretty good and have 30 grams of protein and body fortress powder has 60 protein. Pre op I am told we need to drink Atkins shakes because we need to drink 60 grams of protein so we need to drink five shakes a day of 15 grams of protein 5 times a day plus 60 ounces of water.
  12. I have body pain in all of my joints. Severe pain wakes me up all night long. My body is suffering greatly. I've been overweight for ten years and my body really started suffering pain since last year, my body is finally saying enough already. Finished all my six months of Dr appointments and six months of nut appointments, paperwork is to the insurance company last Friday and hopefully will have a surgery date soon.
  13. Today my paperwork went to the Aetna Better Health Illinois and im wondering does anyone know anything about how fast they can get my approval?

    After Surgery... Easy To Bruise?

It could be because they give you heparin before surgery and it thins your blood to prevent blood clots.

    I messed up

It's not for practice, its to shrink your liver so the drs can do the surgery without your liver being in the way.

    Hair Loss

You might want to look into a spray on filler for your hair it is very unnoticeable and makes you feel like a million bucks. I tried my moms because I have thinning hair on the top, so I tease it up to fill it out and then lightly spray over the parts where I could see my scalp. It's called my secret hair enhancer and is available online I believe. Made by Regency Cosmetics, Duluth, Ga. 1-800-241-5800. Hope it helps.

I have been making sugar free, fat free jello chocolate pudding with 8 oz, chocolate premier shake 60grams protein and one cup of cold ff milk, it is very good. I am going to try sugar free f2f vanilla pudding with French vanilla premier shake and 8 oz f2f milk.
