Sweets! I was just reading our beginnings here and was thinking of you obviously. I’m happy to hear from you hon. You’ve lost a great deal, that’s great to hear, and you’re much healthier now for it. I hope sad moments turn to joy, because that’s what the Lord does, turns our mourning into gladness.

Many of us have gone off for a while, but I’m glad to hear from you all at the year mark. I’m trying to stay on more as well...need more motivation to get to goal and to stay consistent with my lifestyle diet.

I hope to hear from you more! Love ya hon!!!

You guys have meant alot to me throughout this journey. I recently lost my mom who was my rock, love of my life and was extremely proud of me. I miss her so much.

  2. I enjoy your post as well. Mainly, because when i first came to this site most weight were from people who were in the 200's or close to 300 which I found unrelated to my journey. I wanted to identify with someone who had my weight or close to it. I search before and after pics but only a few stuck out. Then I saw your post and a few others which I checked out profiles and to my amazement I decided to follow you and a few others. @OutsideMatchInside thank you for your inspiration.

Well, I'm pretty smooth and charming so I want someone that is like me. B) I dress to impress and I want someone that matches and is comfortable with my lifestyle.

I don't think it is worth getting dressed, doing my hair and makeup for a coffee date. I know a lot of people don't share this perspective which is exactly why I adopted it. It weeds out a lot of men that are a waste of my time.

I used to do coffee dates like 2 years ago. I found that the kind of men that asked me out for coffee were not the kind of man that interested me, so I stopped doing it.

Guys that are introverts are going to ask you to coffee, they want to avoid crowded situations. These are exactly the men I want to avoid like the plague. I have negative interest in dating an introvert, being friends with one, or just associating with them in general. I am an extrovert and I like to be surrounded by other extroverts. I find introverts to just be energy vampires.

The coffee date guys are also just mass dating. They are doing coffee dates because it is a cheap way to check someone out without much time or money investment. Those guys are the real players. They ask you to coffee so they can verify how pretty you are or not, and then they ask you out on a real date if you pass the coffee date test. They ask you to coffee, then try to push it into dinner and invite you back to their place. Rolling 3 dates into one night with the goal of taking you to pound town.

A busy professional male with a worthwhile career doesn't have time for coffee dates if he is really looking for something real. Guys that are players are trying to date the most amount of women for the least cost and time investment. They are not buying concert tickets or taking you to MLB games.

I used to be a hiring manager in IT. I can gauge if I am going to click with someone in a few text messages. I am a good judge of character for the most part. After that I want to see how you act in public and what your mannerisms are like in a few situations. I like being out and about and doing lots of activity and things, always have. I want to avoid homebodies and the quiet evenings at home guys like the plague.

Since I refined my dating requirements, I am going on higher quality dates with higher quality men. Basically getting exactly what I want from dating.

I definitely like your style which is classy and elegant. I'm 48 and I understand exactly where you are coming from. Women don't take time to find out what a man is like before hitting the sheets. Women are more careful to pick out a dress, shoes and a purse then looking for a man to date. You have to weed out the bad apples before getting to the good ones. If i start dating again I am going follow your rules.😎

I didn't even know it was that serious to be honest I haven't even post anything on my Facebook.....now if I wanted likes bad I would've did that. I was just sharing with people I thought were supportive and I was shocked like why am I even on here

Let them hate because you are bringing sexy back. Your dreads and raising your family all on your own is enough to make people hate. But I am proud as a woman to see a brother doing the damn thing right. You keep on jamming.

Thank you so much because I was mad at first and really had to calm myself down because I didn't know people could be negative about weight loss

I know how that goes. People can really get under your skin. I was getting pissed for you too when I read the comments.

Writing this from my hospital bed.

I was sleeved on July 6th and got discharged on July 7th with no issues except for feeling very weak. By the 9th I was feeling deathly weak with sore legs and achy upper body and coughing out mucous every now and then. I assumed I was dehydrated and coming down with a cold or something, so was trying my hardest to stay hydrated by drinking Powerade zero...waste of time. On the morning of the 11th, I woke up feeling beyond faint and noticed something funny with my breathing. At that point I decided I was gonna go to ER but first I called my surgeon on the phone and he suggested I head to ER right away. When I got to the ER I could barely walk so I was assisted with a wheelchair. Lots of tests were carried out right away and it was determined I had pulmonary embolism of the lungs. Evidently a small clot formed in the lower part of my right leg and dislodged and went to my lungs...all in the span of 4 days. I was very very very lucky. It's gonna be a long road to recovery but I'm thankful I saved own life by going to ER when I did.

Please note I did NOT have the textbook symptoms of pulmonary embolism. My biggest symptom was extreme fatigue followed by sore legs which I thought have to do with dehydration.

Hopefully this helps someone out there.

Hi @Parrot I am so glad you didn't chalk up to just dehydration because most people would probably went to sleep and it would be a different outcome. Listening to your body is always important. My prayers are with you.

Hate contracts. I was so happy when I got out of T-Mobile (when they had them) and was month to month, then they just switched to no contracts period. My internet is ridiculous..$70/mo. Anyone have anything cheaper? I could make this post about WLS....that cheaper price could be saved towards new clothes or plastics, LOL.

Is early term fee less than what it would cost to pay for 11 months of it?

Yes, i guess it would be. I am waiting to finish next month bill then i can afford it.

I think it is awesome @Newme17. Ha Ha, we sold my hubby's silverado 3 years ago and paid cash for a used volvo suv. No more truck payments and the volvo gets a little better gas mileage. He misses his truck, but we don't miss the payments.

We finally cut the cord with the cable company. We have our roku and got direct tv now the new streaming service. We will save $55 a month doing this. If it was just me I wouldn't even have the direct tv streaming, but my dh loves soccer and he can't watch the games without it.

It sounds like you and your hubby are rocking it!! We did many of the same things you all are doing now back in 2014 when my dh came back from a 12 month deployment in Afghanistan. Check out the budget software YNAB. It is great and I have been using it for years.

I tried to get rid of Verizon television because it was killing my pockets but I have 11 months left on the contract so instead of paying the early term fee I opted to stay. I only need internet cause we don't watch tv. Here to cutting cost of unnecessary uses in our life. I love football but I haven't been watching last season. It's coming up in a couple months so maybe I will watch it while I have my tv.

I didn't make anything for dinner but popped a Nourish bowl in the microwave. I added some ramen to it for my husband, for extra filling. He'll probably eat leftovers tomorrow.

I had every opportunity to work out today after work but I decided that I just wanted to rest. So I did. 3 hours of it. Lol.

We're selling our 2015 Silverado Crew Cab for a used 2013 Dodge Journey. Why? $200 less a month and shaves off $15,000 of debt. my husband is selling his 2016 Indian scout sixty motorcycle too, another $10 grand. We're keeping my Avalon though....since it'll take God's miraculous hand to get us out of the loan..we shall see. Why are we doing all of this? To be debt free of course, to not be slaves financially anymore. Totally off wls topic, but it's another area of a health in my life. Financial health that needs a good exercise and diet too. 😊

I'm excited. I get a total body makeover and a total money makeover!!! 🤗😀🤣😁😊

I love hearing about saving money and my bbf I am so proud of you focusing on the future and being the great role model for your children continued success.

My name is Adrianna, and I am 16 years old and I'm from New Jersey. As of the 5th grade (I am now a Junior in high school), I hit puberty which had caused me to gain weight. I had been bullied because of my height (I'm 5'10) and my weight. The bullying stoped once I became a freshman in high school. Everyday a student OR teacher/staff would pass a fat comment, or a remark about my weight. I begged my parents to homeschool me so I wouldn't have to deal with this. The day I came home crying because I was threatened, my mom knew it was time for me to seek help. My parents took me to my pediatrician, and he made me get blood-work done for EVERYTHING. The blood results always came back clear, and there was nothing wrong with me. My parents took me to St. Barnabas to see an endocrinologist since my parents didn't believe that I was okay. I was 14 at the time. She tested me for CPOS and Diabetes. It turns out I was positive for Type 2 Diabetes (my father has it), and I also tested positive for CPOS. The endocrinologist was very upset with my doctor since he kept testing me for the wrong stuff all my life, and she was mad when we told her he doesn't treat kids with diabetes and CPOS. At this point, she suggested that I join to a gym and see if that will help me lose weight on my own. I went to the HackensackUMC Fitness & Wellness Powered by the Giants in New Jersey for about 8 months, and I had a personal trainer 5 days a week who made sure I would lose weight. He worked me out to the fullest. I weighed 350 pounds at that time, and I would go there almost every single day and work out but my numbers would NOT move, so we decided to see the endocrinologist again. She said that it's finally time for surgery. She recommended us to Dr. Sadek in Somerville, New Jersey who specializes in adolescents to adults. I met with him in February, and I told him my story. He said that he would do it since I had no other choice. I dieted, I exercised, I did everything to lose weight and he knew I was struggling. I had to go see many doctors just to get approved. My original surgery date was April 5th, 2017. The insurance had denied it because it was not a "medical emergency" and I was not 100% skeletal. We appealed the surgery, and a month later I had gotten approved. My surgery was on May 24th, 2017. It was hard for me to learn new eating habits from a sippy cup to a baby utensil. I am now 6 weeks out. I had lost 35 pounds. My CPOS facial hair is almost gone. It's very light hairs. Before the surgery, I kept to myself and didn't talk as much because of the bullying. Since I got the surgery, I am WAY more confident in myself and I have my new friends to support me throughout this journey. I'm glad I got this surgery done because I feel great.

Throughout all that you have been through, I am proud that you had family that didn't stop caring for you. My dear sweet girl you keep up the great work. I applaud you.
