    London, UK meet up?

Hi! I am also from "up north" and loving this whole experience. I had mine done on the Nhs but it took two long years and lots of hoops to jump through before they said yes.

This stall is gonna break... right??

I don't know if this is right for you but I was told that I wasn't eating enough calories and my body was holding onto the fat as it was in starvation mode. I was on about 700 calories a day at that point so I upped it to 900 - 1000 and it broke the stall. In fact I lost 5lbs a few days after, you could try it and see what happens?

Honestly, it was bad, but not that bad. Look at my pictures above, I still have hair!

    FISHING FOR COMPLIMENTS

At first, I couldn't see the changes when looking in the mirror but after finding this old picture of me at my very heaviest, I can definitely see a change!

When did you start seeing big weight loss?

    I was around 4 months I think before I saw a really big difference. I went from a 26uk to a 20uk, I am now an 18, heading towards a 16 and I certainly feel a lot happier!

    Weight loss in first month

    I think I lost about 24lbs.
  8. This question interests me as I have never used the Protein shakes, not even at the beginning, I use meat and milk to get my protein. However, I am not a gym bunny (wish I liked it but I don't) so I don't need "extra" protein I don't think. I usually get 60gm of protein a day but I have to work at it. In a typical day, without trying to get protein in, I could very easily only have 30gm but obviously I avoid doing that at the moment. Do I really have to do this for the rest of my life?
  9. Are you my American twin? look at our stats, they are very similar! I had my surgery three weeks after you but you are 30lbs lighter than me, congrats

    Any MAY sleevers???

How are we all doing May sleevers? I have had a bit of a stall the last two weeks but got on the scales today and have lost almost 2lbs so breathing a bit easier today! I was a bit scared because I read a post on here about a lady that got to 6 months and then her weight just stopped dead and she lost nothing more, even though she was over a year out, scary! I have been slacking a little bit with my drinking and getting protein in, I really need to keep my focus as although I feel fabulous losing 74lbs so far, its not where I want to be. Onwards and upwards with renewed determination!

    Holy Hair Loss

Mine started at 3 months to the day practically and has now gone back to "normal" in the last two weeks. I am 5 and a half months out of surgery so I had two solid months of it. My hair is way thinner than it was but its still acceptable to the outside world. I don't look much different but I know its thinner and if people really looked, they would see a loss at my temples and at the side near my ears.
  13. My hair started falling out at month 3. I was shocked at how much I lost, the volume of my hair is maybe only 50% of what it was, and it wasn't thick to begin with. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am just over 5 months and it hasn't stopped altogether but it has slowed down dramatically, enough so that I know I can get through this and that I won't go bald anyway! Just have to wait for it to grow back in now

How are the May sleevers doing?

Just thought I would check in with my surgery pals! How we all doing? My life has changed so much with this surgery, the non scale victories are too many to mention but life is great! Currently losing around 7 to 8lbs a month and very happy with that. No stalls so far except a slight one at week three but only for a few days, fingers crossed it continues

Should I cut my hair? (Hair Loss)

Before and after, long hair, short hair!

Should I cut my hair? (Hair Loss)

I decided to go for it and chop a lot off! I had very long hair, almost reaching my bum and had had it for years so was very reluctant to cut it. I was so depressed though at the amount of hair every time I combed my fingers through it. Because it was so long, it looked like more than it probably was. It was the best decision ever, seriously! It feels amazing, looks amazing and already there is way less hair loss and I only had it cut two days ago. Picture to follow.

Any updates for 4 months out sleevers?

I feel great! So many small victories, too many to mention but I will never regret having this surgery, it has saved my life. I have gone from a size uk 26 to an 18! really chuffed with that and even better, a friend of mine has just given me a load of brand new size 18 clothes which look fab on me, for my holiday to Greece next week
  22. If I haven't met my personal goal of 60g of protein that particular day, I eat 150gm of cooked king prawns which has around 20gs of protein and is about 84 calories, I love them!
  23. Thanks, it resonates a lot with me!
