    Post-Surgery Travel

Thank you all for your kind responses and tips. It is the first time my sisters and I will have a vacation together and I really didn't want to have to cancel or postpone it.
  2. I am scheduled for revision from sleeve to rny on Aug 10th. My question is, how soon is it safe to travel? I am scheduled for a long driving trip about week 7 post surgery. (Trip was scheduled months before gettin insurance approval and surgery date.) I plan on taking frequent breaks and overnight stops as well as sharing driving responsibilities. Is there any real concerns as long as I follow diet and fluid intake protocols? I recovered quickly after my sleeve surgery, but I have no idea what to expect with the revision. Did any of you travel soon after surgery? Sent from my SM-T500 using BariatricPal mobile app

    3 week stall

I hear the stalls are normal around week 3-4. Your body is still healing and changing on the inside. Several people have posted that once the stall lifts there is a dramatic change in the scale and clothing fit. "Keep working the plan" is what I hear repeatedly.

    Feeling normal?

Just met with pre-op team today. They said that the swelling after surgery csuses the pain and restriction to liquids. Every one is different based on how our bodies respond to the trauma of surgery. I also heard that the 3-4 week point brings a change in the hunger

    I need help

You may have hit a stall. Get back on your plan and keep working it. Check inches lost. Sometimes or bodies change even though the scale doesn't. Hang in there. Call or meet with your dietician if things dont change.
  6. I tell people I'm not able to join them for meals b/c I'm on a doctor supervised diet, but I'd be happy to join them for coffee...then I bring my own decaf in a travel mug. That allows me socialization on my terms.

    Liquid Diet is Lonely

I normally keep connected to my friends during lunch or breakfsst meetings. I told them we have to meet at coffee shops where I can get decaf and no sugar drinks. They are cool with that. Sometimes we meet to go shopping, to a bookstore, or at the gym. But like you, evenings are tough. Find something to distract you if possible. I've got one more week too.
  8. Contact your doctor asap. If you are bruising that much, your platelets aren't correct and it could be serious if you cut yourself or bump your head. Better to be safe.

    April Sleevers? Buddies?

I'm 5 days into pre-op and made it thru a family BBQ (TX Style) that I hosted without cheating. Easier than I thought it would be. Looking forward to 4/26 for my surgery. Wish you a smooth surgery.
