    I regret this surgery

I wont baby you. All i did was tell you what you already know and what your doctor SHOULDVE explained to you before the surgery. You are three weeks out, on here commenting that your life is over and everything is ruined....after THREE WEEKS. What you should be doing is focusing on your program: Drink water Eat popsicles or Jello Get lots of rest find something to engage your mind - and keep you from dwelling on these depressive thoughts you described here start working on protein intake to meet that goal You can worry about your friends and your old life and doing all the things from a social aspect later. This isnt a jerky comment....this is providing you an ANSWER to help your original question, but you dont want to hear it so you take offense.

    I regret this surgery

Well if you didnt want an honest answer/opinion, then why pose the question in the first place? Seems like you are taking the answer put forth too personally. If you dont want honest discussion, thats fine, I will make sure not to respond to your posts.

    I regret this surgery

You shouldve known beforehand it would change what and how much you can eat. If only three weeks you need to stick with the program and put off these kind of thoughts. Once you are healed and back to normal foods you will enjoy life more, but you wont be able to sit there and eat a giant cheeseburger like before. THats a reality you will need to accept. Until you are three months out i would focus on hydration and protein and take it one day at a time. A couple months of following the plan will not affect you in the long run if you are playing the long game here.

    Compulsory sobriety sucks!

smoking weed and taking edibles post surgery have not been an issue for me. My doctor let me smoke prior to surgery. She said tobacco is the main issue prior to surgery as it can cause healing issues, but that weed didnt matter.
  7. i take flinstones chewables but i just swallow them like regular vitamins most times.

    Social Drinking?

I had wine after three months on a cruise - no issue. Keep in mind alcohol consumption will stop weight loss in its tracks. It also didnt take a whole lot to get loopy. A reasonable doctor will tell you that you will need to live your life. Its not reasonable to assume you will never drink alchohol, eat something fried, eat cake, eat something bad for the rest of your life. If you are reasonable about it you can do those things once in a while.
  10. You are going to feel quite abnormal for about a month or more. focus on water intake because it will regulate a lot of things. I focused on getting my water in each day and i was able to avoid taking any nausea, pain or constipation meds. once you get past the first month things will settle down.
  11. i eat pure protein bars, but the fiber might give you gas, but it seems to be non-noxious

    Protein bars?

need to watch the sugar and processed crap in a lot of bars. My research led me to Kind 15 gram bars and simply protein. Fewest ingredients and sugars and lots of protein.

    Cruise "Mocktails"

Have some of those fancy cocktails they make in the schooner or the english pub. not going to kill you. Once the cruise is over go right back to watching your intake and you will be golden. With all the walking on excursions, etc you will work it off. Plus take the stairs as often as possibl.e

    restaurants?

try to look at menu ahead of time so you know what to order before you get there. Also if your significant other is willing to split entree that can help you both. Or take leftovers home or just throw it away.
  19. first week or two sucks. Focus first on getting your water/liquids since not making that goal will make you hungry/miserable/thirsty. THen worry about getting foodstuffs in. I could barely eat anything that week.
  20. yeah most of those protein powders turn gummy at 140 or above. I usually microwave the food or drink, then use thermometer and add powder once its below 140.

Did I screw up my surgery?

i had a big bowl of spaghetti with garlic and olive oil the night before. as long as you are 12-14 hours out without eating you should be good.
  22. its only been a month for me, but sometimes my stomach feels like its turning cartwheels with flashes of hunger and then crampiness. I hope it stops soon.
  23. if the liquid is too hot it will clump up.

    SOOOOO over protein shakes

Make your own with veggie powder vanilla with yogurt and milk and maybe a cou0le small pieces fruit. That's what I do in the morning so I get protein water and some calories.
