I am also bipolar 2 and have had a gastric bypass many years ago. I have not had any problems with my meds and having this disease. I don't know how long ago you were diagnosed with bipolar but I know myself very well and can tell when I am slipping into a depression . Throughout the years my medicine has changed many times but I feel the gastric bypass has had nothing to do with it. You just learn to live with it and enjoy the benefits that your surgery will give you. I hope this has helped any of your fears that you are having.
