JT2002TJ got a reaction from Lady83 in Surgery soap
When I left the hospital, my wounds were covered with bandages and under that, steri strips. There was no way wearing out what you wore in would cause an infection.
There also is no harm in bringing extra clothes like you did. But, I wouldn't want anyone to think it would be a problem.

It is never wrong to be safe!!!
I ended up bringing so much I didn’t need. I am glad I brought my computer, I was doing work the next day (one of my systems went down at work).

Since my surgery date (9/25/17), I have had two stalls, both with my weight going up 2-3 lbs. But a week and a half later I was 5 lbs down. My weight app shows a drastic downward slope, but if you zoom in, you will see these two upward humps.

The same happened to me last weekend. I was out of my "skinny" shirts, and had a shirt on that fit me 2-3 months ago. I looked at a picture, it looked ridiculous, like a little kid wearing his fathers shirt...

Also note, your surgical group will wash you with the soap while you are under anesthesia. If you have hair they will also shave you (where they need to only).
No shaving at all 3 days prior to the surgery (legs, arm pits, anywhere else).
No deodorants (lotion was already mentioned) from the night before. Use freshly washed towels after each use of the soap you get/order, and sleep the night before on freshly washed sheets (including pillow case).

I am sorry you are having a hard time with this.
It is emotional, but in the end, we do have to realize WE made the choice to change our lives, not everyone around us. We can not expect our loved ones to change unless they need/want to. If you are in a situation where you are having a hard time maybe you can leave the room? Maybe use this as motivation to go for a walk?
I suggest not making any decisions or saying anything that you may regret. This is the perfect place to vent. We understand your pain, he will not because he did not go though what we did.
I feel your pain, my wife had a lot of great food around the house during my 2 week liquid diet and the 2 weeks of recovery (I am a little over 1 month out now). I am not an emotional person, and I wasn't upset. But, she deserves to be able to eat whatever she wants, I'm the one with the weight problem. I don't think she should have to suffer because I made this choice, it is her home too. I have to be the one to get over it, not her. At least, this is how I see it.

Thanks for your responses. We talked it out last night and he apologized for being insensitive right now. Things will get easier with time but the first month of eating liquids and purred food is not easy. Thanks for listening.

I am 4 weeks out from surgery, and down a total of 62 lbs. I still use my mask, and intend to push back a new sleep study as far back as I can convince my pulmonologist.
I like using my cpap machine.

As others have said, that isn't much. I'm still in the small sleeve phase, but I used to eat a 20 piece nuggets + large fries and was good (not stuffed). I can't even imagine that now that I get full off of one hard boiled egg.

JT2002TJ got a reaction from ProudGrammy in What else should I ask surgeon?
The only thing I would have liked to ask was about his technique. I have been watching some of the surgeons procedures and some stitch the sleeve over the staples, others don't. I never asked, and have no idea if he did that extra step or not.
My surgeon opted to go robotic for my surgery as he was running late (I was the first surgery, and he was a little late). I personally think my speedy recovery was because it was robotic. So maybe I would ask if he/she plans to go robotic or not?

JT2002TJ got a reaction from dee_taylor in How did you guys do on your pre op diet?
My surgery is scheduled for 9/25/17 (3 days from now), the pre-op diet has been hard. I have been hungry the entire time. I am on 7 Premier Protein shakes a day for 1120 Cals, I have another 80 Cals to play with between broth/SF Jello and as much Crystal Light as I want.
I am making it (haven't cheated), but I have been hungry. I have a shake at 6 am, and a shake every 2 hours after that. So, for one hour I'm good, the next hour I'm really hungry repeat for the rest of the day.
I have lost 17 lbs in 10 days (my first weight in on day 2 I was heavier than day 1, but by day 3 I was back to starting weight).

@Alex Brecher, as you know, emotions can't be read online. However, I could have expounded on it a little further by saying that I too have cheated on my pre-op diet and realized the error and made the correction.

No hard feelings to anyone I may have offended and it's clearly not my intent as I have been a member since last year and have faced many obstacles along the way and posted many comments without any issues or complaints.

I don't know any of you personally, but I do respect all of you and appreciate your feedback and tips I have learned along the way.

Again, to the author of this post and the person who saw it was an issue and think the comment should be banned, my apologies if I offended anyone and not my intention. [emoji68] [emoji17] [emoji4]

JT2002TJ got a reaction from Tyme4me1003 in Where do you purchase your bariatric vitamins?
From a thread someone posted here. I am still pre-op, but I went to https://insurenutrition.com they were able to work with my insurance company and surgical group. They were able to get me 4 boxes (of 18 per box) Premier Protein shakes, and Vitamins my surgical group approved of. I will get this monthly now. All at no cost to me (I have really good insurance).
This means, when I start my pre-op diet, I wont have to buy any shakes, just anything else I want during that time.
