I finally met with the surgeon today and I officially have a surgery date...12/14/17!!! Now i just have to and see if my insurance approves it [emoji847]

Finally finished my 6 month weigh ins and now I get to meet with my surgeon on the 10th. We will be able to set a surgery date after that. What types of questions should I ask her? What do I need to know besides the diet (before/after)?

The day before you should probably only do clear liquids...at least that’s what my dr told me.

So I’m trying to ween myself off of caffeine before my surgery but Im having horrible withdrawals. Any tricks or advise?

Hopefully it’s all better now! If not try cleaning with saline instead of alcohol. Alcohol can dry it out and irritated even more.

I’ve been doing just decaf for a little over a week...and I’m still getting horrible headaches. I’ll try the half and half and see how that goes. Thank you!

Im eligible for Gastric sleeve surgery in November. Im trying to figure out if I should do it in November or wait until after the semester is over in December. I was told that a lot of people try and do their surgery in December since it is the end of most patients insurance calendar so I want to be able to get done before then. Im currently enrolled in nursing school and Im wondering how people felt after surgery. How tired are you after surgery? Would it be manageable to have surgery and continue with school? Thoughts/opinions???

I have gained about ten pounds since the start of all the weigh-ins. I just started nursing school and i have been stress eating like crazy! Im at my halfway mark now so I really need to get on it and start eating better. Has/did anyone have this problem during their weigh-ins and does anyone know if the weight gain will effect my chances of being approved for surgery?

See I haven't even met my surgeon yet...and I won't meet her until October so I guess I'll see. I mostly just tak with office staff and they haven't said anything so I don't know if the surgeon. I've already done the endoscopy, EKG, lab work and swallow study...so I'm thinking everything is ok....but I'm still nervous that it will effect wether or not I get approved. I've also read my benefits book from my insurance and it doesn't say anything regarding that but I also don't want to be denied from surgery because it was in like fine print or something.

I've completed all my pre-op requirements the EGD, swallow study, psych consult and labs (minus all the weigh-ins...I still have 3 months To go so it will get done) but my question is when does the insurance approve it...when all the weigh-in have been completed or after all the pre-op requirements have been met? Any info would be appreciated!

I'm praying that I don't get denied....but if I do I'll know what I have to do next!! Thank you guys for all the info!

Does anyone know the chance of getting denied for surgery after you have already completed all the necessary steps? I still have three months to go so I'm just wondering what happens after all the weigh-ins, endoscopy, etc. I don't want to be denied at the last minute. Any input would be great!

A few reasons I decided going forward with the surgery: 1. My nephew asking me why my tummy was so big 2. Being on multiple asthma medications to help me breath better 3. Started to feeling embarrassed to go out and socialize with people 4. Joint pain in knees, hips and back

Hi guys I'm new to this site. So I've been thinking of getting the sleeve for a few months and I have done a bunch of research on it. I've made an appt to meet with a doctor but I was wondering what type of question should I ask her. If one of you could help me out I'd really appreciate it! Also I was wondering how long of a process is this like should I expect to have my surgery soon or does it take a while to get everything taken care of?
