  1. Looking for inspiration and making the huge decision. It’s been a few months but how are you doing now.
  2. I have just started researching WLS. Hate to admit it but I am not able to swallow pills unless I take them with food. Is it possible to get all your supplements you need in a chewable or in liquid form...and hopefully not taste too awful.
  3. Why would gum be a problem? Does everything you eat have to be sugar free?

    Scared of Surgery

I watched the surgery done on you tube and it's freaked me out more than ever now. Really has made me think about it even more.

    Liquid diet

What do you do when hungry in the liquid stage?? I think I worry more about being able to stick to that more than anything. I tried a diet just doing one meal replacement shake a day for about 2 months and got so sick of it I don't think I could have drank another one. Was supposed to do 2 a day but couldn't force it down. .

I cannot decide if I should do this or not

Omg I could have written that same post. We are so identical it's scary LOL. Waiting to hear your decision.
  7. Just joined the group. Was curious about posting. Is it ok to put the same post under different forums or should you just post one time. I'm just afraid if i only post in one place it won't be seen by very many people unless they go into that particular forum.
  8. What made you decide on the sleeve vs having RNY or another procedure?

    DAY ONE OF OPTI FAST!

I made out of list of pros and cons to having the surgery LOL.....Every time I think I can't go through with this I get my list out to read. It also helps to come on here to read the success stories. I get all pumped up again and but then all it takes is one negative success story or someone wishing they'd never done it and then I'm back to second guessing my decision. I just have to keep tellng myself there are a whole lot more success stories than failures....or at leats what I can tell from this board.
  10. Hi all....I've just joined this group and have so many questions. I've considered surgery for so long but have never gotten the courage to go thru with it. However, I'm to the point now I just feel I really need to do this for my health. Years ago I would have done it just to look better, but I'm not even so concerned about that as much anymore (in my 60's)..but I feel my health has deteriorated due to weight issues and I just feel like every day I'm getting closer to having the big one if I don't lose some weight soon (appr 110# overwt)...As a side note, my spouse is probably 125# overweight, so he could use the surgery as well, but would never consider it or even try to lose it any other way. That's a whole other topic! LOLWe eat out quite a lot, but I do cook as well, but not the healthiest. I'm very concerned about having the surgery and how it's going to affect our relationship. I am so afraid that I'm going to become depressed or even angry when we do eat, whether out or at home, watching him eat whatever while I sit and eat a 1/2 cup of food, and worse yet having to cook it knowing I can't eat it. I could see me not wanting to even eat out much anymore just because the foods I always loved I could no longer have and would be hard to sit and watch him eat. I've mentioned to him about having the surgery and I know he'd prefer I didn't do it just because of how different I will be eating/cooking, but he's also said if I want to do it ...go for it, although sometimes I think he's just saying that because he thinks I'd never really go through with it because he knows how much i love food. I just feel like this is going to put such a strain on our marriage. Not to the point of divorce but just feeling more disconnected. We aren't involved in a lot and unfortunately eating out is pretty much all we do together. I feel like things are going to be so different once I have this surgery. In addition, our daughter will be moving out next month, which is going to be life changing for us as well. At least with her here I wouldn't feel so bad having to cook a big meal but to do it for just one person I feel would be hard to do. I'm curious to know if WLS has affected your marriage or relationship with your spouse and if so how have you handled it.

How long were you off work?

Do you feel like the exhaustion comes mostly from not having enough food,....sugar, carbs, etc. ?
  13. Hi all....I just joined this site today and have so many questions. Have been trying to read past responses in hopes I won't have to ask too much. Just curious, how long did you take off work after your sleeve? I do have a desk job but am up and down quite a bit. Just don't want to go back to work too soon and regret it.
