I had mine on 1/24 and I agree with others. My favorite is the baked ricotta and I just mashed it with my fork and chewed it really well. It's the best! Good luck.

I have to agree with this.. it couldn't even hide the taste of Beneprotein Protein Powder, which is supposed to have no taste.
Honestly right out of postop I was taking chopped up pills with a couple sips of Apple juice, diluted with some Water. Try not to gulp because a few days out it's gonna likely hurt (unless they doped you up sufficiently on painkillers) like hell.. I had to chop metformin up in half and take it in halves and even then it was still very large but was able to get the stuff down. Personally I'd probably wanna retch if I tried taking my pills ground up.

Definitely sugar-free chocolate pudding. Applesauce doesn't do much to hide the taste.

Applesauce hides the taste really well! I used it every day for my crushed pills!

I prefer to shotgun the whole awful thing. It gets it over with quicker, but yeah, crushed pills suuuuuuuck.

Maybe try pudding? Put some pudding the add crushed meds than put more pudding on top.

Yes. The abdominal binder is a lifesaver. I asked for one at the hospital and they gave it to me with no fuss. They knew exactly what I meant when I said the wrap thingie. Lol. My head was very foggy. Lol
And I can confirm that the first week is full of mixed feelings. Tomorrow will be 1 week post op for me and today was the absolute hardest. I spent the majority of the day beating myself up and regretting this surgery because I couldn't have any of the food I wanted. I wasn't actually hungry... I just wanted that pizza that pizza Hut sent me a coupon to my email for and that subway sandwich I saw a commercial for and the lasagna my husband brought home from his dad's bday and that steak my sister made sure to rub in she was eating. It was all in my head. And it made today the hardest day yet. I am looking forward to the soft food stage. 1 more week.
I keep reminding myself that this will all be worth it. Just stay strong and you will do great.

hi Brenda...i just saw ur post. the band is a Velcro type girdle....i would tighten it and it was very comfortable. it helped when you tried to get up from laying or sitting. it just made me feel better...like I was being held together. i would recommend it. best of luck....i will tell u, u will question your choice for the first week or so. but if you follow the directions from your doctor, you will feel better. i guarantee that once you get used to your new lifestyle, you will NOT regret the surgery. good luck

hi gang! just wanted to toss up a pic. I am 6 weeks out...the quality of this pic is horrible. There are marks on the mirror but I was not planning on posting until I saw the pic...what a difference! I was going through clothes that I have been holding on to. I had about 4 clothes baskets full! can't wait to wear some of them

Tomorrow is the big day for me as well. Leaving my house at 5:30am so that I will be at the hospital at 7:30am. So excited and nervous. Praying everything goes well for you tomorrow.

Tomorrow's the day! I have to leave my house at 3:30 am to be there at 5:30 am. I'm so nervous. My hubby is also in the hospital recovering from congestive heart failure so now my cousin is taking me. I totally forgot about today being Clear Liquids and had a Protein Shake early this morning. Yikes!

I'm almost to the end of the first day of my presurgery liquids-only diet. I'm so hungry!

I had 7 days pre up liquid diet and I lost 11 lbs. for me, the broth wasn't working so I just made "broth" using a packet of seasoning from Ramen noodles and 2 cups Water. Lots of flavors this way and it hit the spot.

Gastric sleeve, May 9, 2017! I can't wait!

I'm scheduled for May 8 too!

Pre-op appointment tomorrow and surgery in ONE WEEK. EEK! The nerves are setting in.
