Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you can:

Also, I know advice coming from a 21 year old probably won't be given any credence, but perhaps assuming the best in others and having a positive and humble outlook would help with your healing process. It would definitely help with stress levels, reducing cortisol levels in your system. If you decide to continue to participate in this forum, a humble and positive attitude and a thicker skin would also really help in terms of interacting with others. We're all here to learn and lean on each other when things get tough, it'd be nice to think of the members of this site as a family. Please don't assume every comment that doesn't praise you is malicious. Some people might just use a different tone when writing.

I legitimately think Greensleevie was coming from a place of good and trying to help you in the comment quoted. Perhaps the tone wasn't particularly pleasant, but let's look at what she's actually saying: we should be humble (weight loss is relatively easy right now because we're so fresh out of surgery, we also don't know what struggles lie ahead), she's asking you to be cognizant of the fact that a large number of people do gain some weight back and she doesn't want you to be one of them, finally, she admits that she also doesn't know what happens down the road for her just like you don't know what happens in your future. The vets on here have experienced everything we're going through. It would be wise to learn from their mistakes and successes.

I agree with newme17. Keep up the great work!
I am a believer in getting our calories up to a reasonable level based on our activities. We don't want to wreck our metabolisms by staying on starvation levels for too long. I am beginning to get 1000-1075 calories on the days I run and 950ish on the days I don't.

Wow. Keep up the activities. That's sound like fun. Don't worry so much about how fast you lose hon, that's added stress. No need for that! Just keep doing what you're doing, you'll get to where you'll need to be in due time. 😊

I am 4 years out and I am totally still sooo AMAZED at the small amount I can eat. I had the RNY and I can say one of the best things about my WLS is I still have no physical hunger at all! Now head hunger yeppers got it!! Sometimes it is such a challenge not to eat everything my mind says it wants and I need it too. Just so AMAZING!!!

I've never had shepherds pie, cause I never liked mashed potatoes and still don't. I might try this, less the peas (never liked them either). Lol Thanks for your recipe!

I'll definitely need to make this modified version of shepherds pie, especially since seasonal veggies are so much cheaper around here due to the summer season.

You sound like me!! After my RNY I was walking 7 days a week (this comes from a person who HATED exercise!! I got so badd that if something came up and I couldn't walk it drove me insane. I felt like a TOTALLY FAILURE!!! Guess what I still lost my weight and now I exercise 3 to 4 times a week. I walk 3 to 4 miles each time. I truely feel that my exercise is my saving grace!! Don't push yourself until you start to hate it because this is something that we have to do. Exercise is so important!!n Good Luck

Have you tried compression leggings? Shapewear like spanx? Those spandex "waist cinchers" that the Kardashians have popularized?

I'm not familiar enough with various brands to recommend a specific ones, but those are some good starting places. Good luck and post some pictures for us if you get the chance!

@Jeffrey Stern listen to those words of wisdom from @Newme17
Don't let the words of one persons opinion bother you. I see both points and I agree that sometimes people think just because their journey went a certain way that everyone is going to have just as hard a journey, and that just isn't possible or even logical.
I believe you will succeed and if you believe it, that is all that matters.

I just heard a message tonight at church that might encourage you. Don't worry, it's not preachy or anything and certainly not religious. I don't do religion. Anyway, despite what this person says, you'll need to do your best to let it roll off your shoulders. So, part of the message was "do everything for an audience of One" (for me, that means do everything I do for God alone). But let's apply this to your situation, heck...everyone's situations with the naysayers or super opinionated (there way or the highway type)....do everything you need to do for your weight loss/surgery for the audience of one...yourself! Do you know the truth of how things are going with YOUR journey? YES Are they working for you? YES Are you lighter, happier, healthier? YES. The questions can go on. What I'm saying is, despite how anyone else may come across based on their own journeys, failures and successes, you will need to be mindful that your journey is the only one that matters. So, just let it roll....easier said than done, I know it! But you have the choice to let it not bother you. You have the choice to know these are lies for you and not believe them. Which I don't think you do. You have the choice to forget and forgive and move on. Will you choose to do that? Blessings to you hon. I enjoy your statuses, posts, concerns, and opinions here. Stay on board for the rest of us, huh?

    Thanks you guys
I started comparing myself to others and freaked out about "only" losing 8 pounds for my second month so I increased my exercise. I was under the impression you can never do too much low intensity cardio, but in retrospect, I think I was doing moderate intensity stuff.

Actually reading this back to myself, I now see that my exercise program for the last few weeks has been a bit more intense than it should be for where I'm at right now. Some rest and time off sounds good to me!

There is such a thing as too much exercise. Your caloric consumption is completely inadequate for that much gym-time. You'll lose plenty of weight on those calories, just sitting around on your butt, and walking around the mall a bit.
Aim for 9 hours of sleep, and don't go to the gym more than 3 times a week until you get your calories up.

Maybe it's just a normal phase of wls??? I know I had one where I felt unusually tired for a few days. Comes and goes. Let's hope you get your energy back soon. On the other hand, could also mean your body just needs a good rest, despite sleep, but rest from activities for a day. I don't see where you take rest days? At least once or twice a week will do your body good.

I've found that my "creaky" joints get a lot after regularly drinking collagen for a few weeks. Just something to take into consideration. I've also heard it could help deter loose skin, but I'm a little skeptical.
