  1. I think in some ways this forum is a microcosm of our society. Some folks are haters, some folks have your back. I just hope you don't let the few jealous creeps ruin your experience here, because I think you have a great deal of knowledge and experience now that will be invaluable to this community. We've got your back [emoji111]

  2. Bohdi Tree, I don't think anyone is being a hater, people have a right to express their opinions with it being construed as being hateful. We are all in this thing to be our best self.

I disagree. They were saying he wasn't being truthful, which he was. Explain to me how that is encouraging him "to be his best self"?
That was hate. Dismiss it if you want to, but it's obvious that's what it is.

  3. I get up daily and walk 3 to 5 miles and I like to drink 50 to 70 g of Protein during my walk instead of Water and light workout at gym maybe twice a week on legs....but never skip walking 10k plus a day

You sir are a MACHINE! You've done incredibly well - please keep us posted on your progress please?

(And in regards to the haters - sometimes I think people get caught up counting others people's blessings instead of their own. Sad but it happens. Just keep letting your light shine [emoji295])

  4. Hi there! I was wondering if you might be able to answer a few questions for me? I am a bit confused as to whether or not it's okay to remain vegan after surgery? I've heard so many people tell me that I'll be unable to get my Protein quotas met, and my dietician said it's not even realistic "cutting out entire food groups". *sigh*
So I guess what I'm wondering is - are you able to get the required amounts? Also what sorts of supplements do you require daily? Is it the standard post bariatric multis, along with the B's, Iron, Calcium etc? Many thanks in advance [emoji111]

  5. I had anemia after being vegan for a long, long time. I was told to start taking Iron supplements and with my morning OJ, but it did nothing. After doing some online research I came across a medical study on a different type of iron supplement called: "Ferrochel Chelated Iron Bisglycinate". I was intrigued by the information, so I found a company (Now brand) that produces it. I have been taking it for 4 months, 2 pills a day. I no longer have anemia. I'm not ever going without it again. Talk to your doctor & do a bit of research to see if it may be right for you too. Good luck :)

  6. I was curious as to whether or not it's possible to stay on a liquid diet post roux-en-Y? Has anyone tried it or know of someone that has? I met with a nurse a few days ago and posed this question to her. Her response was that it wasn't recommended, but when I asked why, she was unable to give me an answer. There are various liquid diet options out there - like Unjury - that offer a wide variety of products that aid in providing a proper balance of Vitamins and minerals, so why couldn't one use these products in order to aid in weight reduction?
