GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+
+

Yes, it was night right before surgery! I honestly thought I still had a lot of fat and wanted to get my arms done first but when I first saw surgeon for consultation, he told me to wait on arms until at goal weight and that I was ready in my mid section. I was surprised with how much he removed!! I've never really had hard fat though, it's always felt a bit loose.

GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+
+

Greetings Gals! I started at 350lb, Surgery weight was ~325lb, Tummy Tuck was at ~195 and my one year mark in February has kept me at about 175lb. 13 months after my surgery, I had to get gall bladder removed because I was having ugly gall bladder attacks and they found several stones. They attributed it to severe weight loss in small amount of time. Also, for those at the beginning, my best advice is to not allow yourself to get discouraged with stalls because oooooh my, how I loathed them! Just stick with the magic number 6 and don't consume more than 6g of sugar in any sitting or with any beverages. Stay Focused. Be Grateful Everyday. Appreciate your wonderful body at every stage,

    Another chapter to my book!

haha Thank you!! A friend and I were playing tourist in our own town for the day!
  4. Finally decided to post after 16 months after my surgery! It sure has been an interesting ride. I can say that most weight loss is attributed to what happens in the kitchen more than in the gym. However, working out sure makes you feel a lot better! I also had tummy tuck and removal of about 10-15lb of skin in December 2017, about 10 months after surgery. 5. Everything and Anything is possible! Even after surgery, stay away from sugars. Aim for 6g or less for each sitting. Weight training helps. Starting weight: 350lb Surgery gastric sleeve weight (2-17-17): 325lb Tummy tuck on 12-22-2017 and ~ 10lb of excess skin removed Weight at one year (3-17-18): 175lb Total weight loss: 175lb
  6. Does it still feel pretty numb? By chance, do you know why the swelling stays for such a long time? I'm still planning on getting arms and legs done. I'm on a time crunch with my insurance of getting them all done within next 12 months. Of the surgeries you've had, which have taken most recovery time? Also, drank plenty of water before taking faja off tonight to put new dressings and I felt good! No lightheaded, so thank you again! Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

  8. Yes! In the hospital it went as low as 85/75! Good advice though, thank you. I've been drinking my 2 liters of water a day but will try to drink a lot before taking it off. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

  10. Any good advice for the following weeks and months to come? I'm just 6 days post op and only side effect is coughing phlegm out and having my stomach muscle hurt so much! I hold on to my stomach each time I cough to try and not let any stitches from muscle come undone. Also, continue to get light headed each time I remove body faja to clean and redress incision. Oooh man, yes!! I haven't pooped yet but feel I need to make the slit bigger. They put me in a girdle that has a slit at bottom but I don't trust it!! Thanks for the warning. Are you still on pain meds? So the worse thing happened to me. I started getting phlegm and I'm very careful to not cough but it hurts so bad to even try to get it out. Did you experience any of that? Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Plastics or no plastics ?

Yes, absolutely no appetite! So far I've only had protein shake and chicken broth and an egg. Trying to eat because I feel very drained of energy. They ended up having to admit me to the hospital yesterday because after waking up from anesthesia, my bladder didn't wake up andI couldn't urinate. Thankfully bladder finally woke up 30 minutes prior to them putting a catheter in me! So Dr took a total of 15lb from my stomach!! That was a big shock but I'm excited to see how it looks. Also, how many times did you walk around after surgery? Did you sleep a lot? Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app
