  1. So happy for ya'll! I am dusting off seats for ya here on the losers bench. I remember when I was down to my last 5 days, ( i,was sleeved on July 21) starting on that Sunday of the week everyday I woke up I would say, today is my last fat Sunday! Them my last fat monday, Tues etc...lol
It made those last days go by so fast.
I will be praying for ya'll. The surgery is so fast. Soon as you close your eyes you are in recovery.
    Your seats are waiting!!

  2. The bigger issue is why/how do you have NO spleen ? If you had emergency (or even elective) surgery extensive adhesions could be an issue. Which if bad enough could cause them to complicate, substantially extend, or cancel your surgery. I recall a patient who had an emergency splenectomy from a trauma, and the surgeons spent 4+ hours taking down adhesions before canceling the case. The patient eventually came back (this time they were prepared to do the case open if need be) but were ultimately able to finish the case after 6-8 hours.
The surgeon should have a good idea of your circumstances before the case, and would hopefully discuss any concerns he has

Its was removed when I went in for gastic sleeve march 27 my surgeon said is was 8 times the normal size so he removed it now I have to go back July 31 and actually have the sleeve surgery I'm so scared don't want anything like this to happen ever again [emoji22]

  3. Thank you!
Did you go to the hospital later that day for preop meeting?
Did you start shakes the same day?
I have a list of questions and am getting excited!
I had a checkup with another doc yesterday and she told me that she knows our doc from her residency program and he is known for being very technically good in surgery. That was nice to hear!
Meanwhile I'm home sick with a cold. Better now than on 7/31 I guess!

    Yay mine too

  4. Problems with blood vessels connected to spleen and stomach was the biggest risk my surgeon identified. She said that if they can't control the bleeding they would remove my spleen during surgery. She said I would need extra immunizations if that happens.
So, based on that I would say it isn't a problem. Certainly clarify with surgeon but my DR made it sound like no spleen would be a non issue.
