    Vomiting after surgery

That's fine, all I said was follow up with your surgeon. If they are good with it than that's fine. It's your body's way of telling you something is wrong, so mine just said pay attention and don't get to that point again. To each his own. I however do not like throwing up, it's painful and not a common occurrence I enjoy. Therefore slowing down a bit should solve that if that's what someone is using to tell they are full. I wish you the best and hope you have nothing but success.

    Vomiting after surgery

I do not regularly throw up. Just the first two days in the hospital while coming off anesthesia and while releasing gas. If you're regularly throwing up past day three I would say that's unusual and to ensure you follow up with doctor. The op was one day post op and therefore common in the first 48 hours as others experiences. Anyone routinely eating/drinking till throwing up post hospital needs to slow down and take their time. No one should have to get used to regularly vomiting. Outside the few days in the hospital, you should be fine.

    Vomiting after surgery

I had surgery 2/28 and I had to stay two nights because I felt so awful. They were giving me so many fluids and no naseau medicine was working. The liquid pain medicine made me throw up every time, and any bite of food I tried to get down. Finally once minute full of dry heaving (felt like 10 minutes) helped get all the gas out. I thought I was dieing for those two days, but they final gave me some stronger IV pain medicines and muscle relaxers. 4 days and up I started feeling so much more normal and could keep things down and take liquid pain medicine. Hope you're feeling better. That extra night in the hospital was a life saver.

3rd week post op & hungry again

I had my surgery a week ago today and can now have puréed foods. The puréed cottage cheese was great but I still felt hungry. However when it came to the two scrambled eggs mixed with 2 oz of mashed potato.... I could barely finish half of it! Liquids that long would be old, but you're almost there!!! I still feel so swollen and puffy in my stomach. I'm about to purée some tuna (lord help me) because I need a different flavor in my life. It feels like I'm eating all the time, but then I look at my food tracker and the calories are still below 1000!! I'm just trying to take it day by day. I enjoy the smells of all the food and when people apologize for eating in front of me I make them stop. I like talking to my husband about his meals and trying to face that head on. I have found myself thinking of I'll just take a small bite than immediately I laugh when I realize again my stomach can't handle a bite of any of that right now!! You got this!! I think our brains and tummies just need time to sync up on the new us.

    TMI Question for the Ladies

Mine was to fall on my surgery date, however the pre-op diet threw my body off and I have yet to start and I'm 6 days pre-op. I agree with Berry, just let the nurse know the morning of the surgery when you're putting on your gown and they will help you out.

Surgery 2/28.... First two week Key pointers?!

Hi! I'm 6 days post op and the stomach spasms are horrible! I finally ended the constipation today after last bm being the day before surgery. I bought the powdered miralax you mix with any liquid and took that for three days and had a bm on the third day. It helped release gas the days before the bm and gave me relief. I start the vitamins tomorrow, as it's one week post op, however most of mine are liquid or calcium chews. The lovebox shots are leaving my arms bruised and knotted, but don't hurt going in. I start my puréed diet tomorrow and am looking forward to the additional options in food. I feel I can drink more than the 3-4 oz of water/liquids an hour. I am have pains in my stomach when I take a bite sometimes. Even the small amounts of cream of wheat, but they don't last long. Compared to feeling like death the first three days I feel pretty good today an my biggest incision has now closed. Hope all continues well with you!!

Hope you're doing well. I'm now 7 day post op and the first 3 days were awful! How is second week diet going? I'm so ready for puréed food

    Cheaping on Pre-op diet

Strawberry is good and I'm not big on strawberry flavored drinks. I want to try the caramel. I try to mix them up so I don't get tired of them. I also throw in some Unjury powder with almond milk for a change. Just think sticking to it will make your surgery so much easier for the surgeon. Anytime I was tempted to have something I shouldn't, I think of the end game.

    Activity question

I'm 6 days post op and the big thing for me is sitting comfortably without reclining. The fluids and gas used during surgery left me super bloated and it was awful, I have never been in that much pain ever. By Tuesday or Wednesday I would think you would be ok. When it hurt to sit or be still I stand or walk and it helps the back and abdomen pain!

    Confused

I see exactly what you are saying. However, for me I need this little help. I'm super active- kickboxing, softball, elliptical and other sports. But I'm 32 and due to PCOS it I have a hard time getting pregnant and for me this extra tool will help me get there faster. I've tried things in the past and they haven't worked. I'm 32 and the sooner I can get to my goal the better. I do what's best for me and this is a motivating tool, it's not easy at all. So anyone who tells me this is the easy way out or questions me, I let them know it's just a different path I've taken after much research and hard work to qualify. Maybe it isn't for you if you think of it that way. You can still gain the weight back if you don't eat healthy or follow a diet and exercise plan... it just aids in helping you get there.

    Liquid Protein

I wrote a long reply but it deleted most of it for some reason. Try premier pre made protein (wal-Mart or Sam's) shakes. They are tasty and have 4 flavors.... 30g protein in one shake

    Liquid Protein

I use Unjury but during my pre-op diet and now my post -op 6 days have been drinking premier protein premade shakes and they are great. They are 11oz but have 30 grams protein. Chocolate is my favorite, but they have strawberry, vanilla and caramel as well. I used to have the running through me problem but do not seem to have the problem with premier.?

    Confused

I luckily didn't experience the being hungry during post op... my doctor gave me a daily schedule that spaced out 4 protein shakes, one 300 calorie meal, 5 snacks and about 100 oz of water. Changing your life entirely is scary for sure. However in these post 6 days I have had my hungry moments, but also not sure if I was hungry or just hurting lol. I just try to think bigger picture and if everything I'll be gaining and that's so worth it versus the things I'll be missing out on or can't eat as much of. It's a lifestyle and mind set change. My hospital program had support groups and they encourage people in ore op to attend to see the results and struggles if those post op. Do you have access to these programs?!

    January Sleevers Check-In

I'm only six days post op but pre surgery I used skinnytaste.com and it was great. Healthy meals with the nutrition information included for easy meal tracking in myfitnesspal or other apps. There is also a website called bariatriceating.com (I think) with good recipes. Someone posted a great pizza recipe where crust was chicken and Parmesan.

What is causing you to have your second thoughts?? I'm 6 days post op (2/28/17) and my first two post-op days were extremely rough but I feel 100% better now and can't wait for the next steps in my journey. I had days where I was a little nervous before but I just kept thinking of all the great things that would result from getting the sleeve. I lost 15 lbs on the pre-op 2 week diet and am down another 8 in my 6 days post-op. I can't wait to be off all my diabetic and thyroid meds and kick this PCOS that has made getting pregnant so difficult. I had to do six months of nutrition classes starting last august. This seven month journey has led me where I am and even though my first three post-op days were awful I'm feeling so much better and looking forward to what will come!!
