Sleeve1stFitNext got a reaction from stacy71 in United Health Care Insurance
I waited less than 2 weeks to get an answer. They had submitted my paperwork the same day. I believe I was approved on the 10th day of waiting. My surgery was scheduled the same day I got approval.

Oh, the time of the month does not matter. It is only matters that you went that month as scheduled. If you miss a month then it messes up your progress.

Yeah, I would feel really thirsty after drinking one. I think its due to the Protein. I just wait 30 minutes and then drink Water.

Stretching the sleeve is not the problem. Busting the Staple line or creating a leak is. The best thing to do is drink from a smaller cup or put smaller amounts of Water in the cup.
There are patients who can drink large amounts of water at a time. Remember not every sleeve is the same. However, you are still fresh out and now is not the time to be putting pressure on your sleeve.

Sleeve1stFitNext got a reaction from Healthy_life2 in How Many Carbs Per Day
The goal for calories is based on your body type and the amount of exercise you do.
I reach for the following (Add that I do a lot of lifting):
    1) 30g Carbs
    2) 126g Protein
    3) 52g of Fats
I use MyFitnessPal to track my macros. It gives me a good idea of where I stand each day.

Unfortunately, we have to change our relationship with food. This will happen over the course of the year.
I used to use junk food to comfort me. It was my go to when I was in my feelings. Every now and again, I want to just binge but I do not. I hit the gym instead.
I now view food as a source to energize my body, to help me achieve my workout goals. By doing that, I have a better control over my relationship with it.
Now Eat to Live and Live to Eat.

Hmmm. That is a good question. I believe they only apply towards Protein. I could be wrong though. I only apply them to Protein as they make me feel dehydrated at times.

Are you working out at this time? I am asking because that is a large number of calories to be intaking less than a month out. I was only at about 400 around that time.
Also, what type of foods are you eating? Protein-rich foods tend to be low in calories. It sounds like you are either not tracking your meals properly or weighing them to know how much you are eating.
It could also be a stall. That can happen.

This is a huge victory!!! It means that you realize that your surgery and health is more important.
I will be honest with you, that first week out, I cried at all the Applebees, Red Lobster, Burger King, and Taco Bell commercials. I even almost licked a donut.

Anybody ready for my Grandpa's idea of a table blessing?
The Lord bless you and bind you-
    Tie your hands behind you-
Put you way out in the woods-
Where the Devil can't find you!
Yes I'm descended from a strange Group of people. We were Irish enough we got punched on St Patrick's day if we didn't have some green on! Fine old Irish tradition, isn't it?

    Music improves your workout.
Listening to music while exercising can improve workout performance by 15%. That means that the hype playlist that you have while everyone is popping **** about your taste in music, want help you burn upwards to an additional 1 - 3 calories per minute. Which is helpful because I am now able to burn like 12 calories a minute to maximize my workout time.

Sleeve1stFitNext got a reaction from dsapeg69 in Extra incisions instead of 5 I have 9
The base amount that a surgeon would need is 5. However, some patients require more as your surgeon said, "There is not enough room after the initial incisions". He would have needed to add more incisions to complete the surgery successfully and that is the most important thing.
I have 5 and hell, I would take 10 more incisions without a problem after this tool has helped me soo much.

You know Apple, Peg and Acts 238 girl, my journey path to surgery has been so bumpy and convoluted, I don't care at this point how many or how few slits I have all that much. As long as I don't whistle the piccolo solo from the Stars and Stripes Forever whenever I breath in and out, I will be ONE HAPPY CAMPER. Bruising, well it can not be worse than I had with my Tomkitten, he would not stay "engaged" in my pelvis. So nurse got up on my bed, worked him down manually from outside so OB doctor could screw electodes for, monitoring into his scalp. I had handprint bruises all over my lower belly for weeks. I wonder looking back, if I had been "normal" weight would they have just taken me to the OR and sectioned me instead of these fun and games? Ah I will never know. But give me up to a dozen portholes? Just bring them on, I'll just have extra dimples when they heal!
