Do you eat the same amounts on days you workout? I would think you would need more calories than that if you are burning a lot at the gym.

      Sleeve1stFitNext

I bring an additional protein Shake just in case. I normally do not feel hungry after the gym. I feel an endless thirst, so I drink a lot of water. I just head home, take a bath and go to sleep.

When I started running I had to eat more. My calories bumped up to 1000 and now that I am running longer distances I am hitting 1200 on those days. It seems like some people are able to do well on less calories. It is great that you are doing so well!

    United Health Care Insurance

I waited less than 2 weeks to get an answer. They had submitted my paperwork the same day. I believe I was approved on the 10th day of waiting. My surgery was scheduled the same day I got approval.
  4. 9/7 - I got my butt kicked. She did not hold back on cardio today. I crawled to the locker room. I sat on the floor for 20 minutes. I think I died at one point lol jk. It is all worth it though. I could not even lift my phone to take an after. I noticed that I am losing inches now.

i LOVE my fitness shirts and pants. I will be getting more shirts. The place I order from always has a special sale. https://www.thefitnessteeco.com/

  6. So when I say my hair is coming out....I mean it. Please view the picture below. Each ball is from a side of my head. Honestly, I still have a ton of hair left on my head. I did not know I had that much hair.

I went to Wendy's with my mom and got a Jr. Cheeseburger (no-bun). They put that little burger in a huge container lol. I was like, yall know you could have given it to me in a fries holder lol.

Here is my dog thinking that he is a human.  He climbed under my cover and went to sleep. This dog is too much lol.

Have you tried taking Biotin? I have been taking 10,000 mcg's since well before surgery. Maybe you can ask your doctor about it?

I have been taking biotin religiously. My surgeon said its not normal but unfortunately it happens.

  7. I am starting to lose my edges ya'll:48_weary::48_weary:. I cannot say RIP the edges. I have been slicking those babies back and wrapping them up at night. My babies hairs are laid for the gods as always. But them edges are splitting from my baby hairs like the Moses splitting the red sea. You could sail the Titanic between my baby hair and edges as this point. I will be damned if I am out here looking like Naomi Campbell.

Now I know people are going to say use a protective style. However, braids, weaves, twists and wigs will only pull more of my hair out. I have very fine hair with a lot on my head but my cute fro is a no go!

      Newme17

Oh hon the way you describe is super funny, but it's is disheartening about your hair. I too am losing hair, a lot of it. I usually relax my curls and I haven't done for fear of losing a lot more hair than intended. Also, I'm kind of worried any new growth will come in all gray! Cause I've got quite a few strands popping up and I'm not a fan of hair dyeing anymore. 😂 lets both just hang on, we know it's temporary, which I thank God for that!!!

    2. OutsideMatchInside

      OutsideMatchInside

Your edges come back when your weight loss slows or stops.

  8. I was soooo jealous of the people in my support group. I was really like why do I not look like them and why am I not losing like they are? Then I did a side by side comparison for support group and noticed it. I really could not believe the difference. Sometimes we truly have to look backwards to see how far we have come. I never liked comparing myself to others but I always felt a little way about people reaching their goals faster then me. However, after this picture, I will never feel that way again. I am proud of my success and how far I have come. Granted I am starting to notice lose skin, but I will take that over being unable to jog up the steps or run across the street.

After reaching the goal of 200 lbs (finally dang I thought I would never get there lol). I went to the Spa. I was soo proud of myself and how I looked. I even got myself a Male Masseuse. He even complimented me on how soft my skin was and how well hydrated it looked. I felt so pretty with my facial and nails done. I did not worry if the bed was going to hold my weight or if I was going to fit on it. I fit just fine.

Afterwards me and my mom went to Buffalo Wild Wings (Her favorite Spot). I was able to fit into the booth without having to suck my tummy in, lift it up or push it down. I looked at my mom and I said, "Mom I fit!! I really fit!!" She started laughing at me. The Waitress was really confused. My mom told her, "My annoying daughter lost over 60 lbs and now can fit in the booth..sooo...this is an important moment for her."

Went to visit my Dad and he was shocked to hug me. (Note: My Dad lost a lot of his eyesight to Diabetes and he now takes very good care of himself. He was one of the reasons why I wanted to change). He said, "Moocha!! I wrap my arms around you now!!" I said, "Daddy so can I lol !!". We spent hours talking about Game of Thrones and how much weight we have lost. My dad used to weigh almost 385 lbs. He now weighs 220 lbs (he did this by going vegan and working out). I am very proud of him. It has taken him 2 years but he never gave up. The man is amazing.

I have placed a picture I took at the restaurant lol.

Thank you all. I am really proud of myself. The difference is amazing.

@Newme17 I thought the same thing. People at work always show me pictures of myself heavy and say, "Whats up slim goody" lol. My dad is really trying to get me to go Vegan. He calls me three times awake with how great his Vegan dinner was lol.

@Meryline I believe we are in the same group. I just saw everyone else's progress and lost sight of my own.

      @Apple1 Thank you so much.

      @Krandall Thank you as well.

Gained almost all my weight back

I am sorry for your loss. I wish all to be well. You can always go back to your prep-op diet and take the steps over again. I have heard from people in my support group that when they gain, they just reset and follow the pre-op diet for about 2 weeks and start at the solid food stage again. They said that it works for them. Also they cut carbs down a lot. You could also have gained the weight back from stress. Stress causes lack of sleep, lack of sleep causes the body to need energy, needing energy causes the body to feel hungry and feeling hungry causes you to eat more calories in a day then you are burning.
  10. Sleeve1stFitNext

    Vitamins....

I was advised to stay away from them. I was told that ingesting vitamins was the best way to ensure that you are receiving the minerals needed.
  11. Sleeve1stFitNext

    Is it dumping? TMI...Sorry

It sounds like dumping to me. However, it is also your body rejecting the food. I have tried fried chicken once and I stress on the once. It does not sit in my sleeve well neither. I had the same symptoms as you with the foamy feeling in my throat and a severe cramping pain. It literally put me to sleep and when I woke up everything was fine. I believe that it is the type of oil (being that I can eat olive oil and coconut without a problem).

  16. My clothes have been hanging off and baggy. I decided to just suck it up and buy a few shirts and two pairs of jeans today. I fit into a size 16 jeans. I was a size 22!!! I fit into a size Medium shirt. A MEDIUM!!! From a 2XL - 3XL to Medium. OMG!!! YES.

It is crazy because I would wear baggy clothes and sweat shirts to hide myself. I could not believe how I looked. I am excited. I used to hate Target because I could not fit the clothes that I liked there. Now I can and I am so happy. Saying goodbye to Ashley Stewarts and Lane Bryant's expensive a$$ $60 shirt (talking about you are paying more for the amount of fabric needed) and hello to $14.99 shirts!!! Lol

I now have more options at dress barn (my favorite place) and Burlington!!!

  17. My doggy is now back home in his cute little splint and cone. He is soo adorable and annoyingly smart. He figured out how to push the cone back so he can bite at the splint. He also is running on 3 legs but walks on all 4 (Except in the dirt lol).

My stall is finally over. I moved 1 lb on the scale on Sunday. I finally moved. I have been bouncing between 203 - 205 lbs for the longest. I am finally 202 lbs. I think its over. I have been sticking to my Keto and meal prepping. I cannot believe that I look like this. I feel amazing. I look amazing and although I have a long way to go, I am soo proud of the progress that I have made. I am almost to my second goal of being under 200 lbs. I have made the decision that I want to bring in the New Year at 155 lbs. That is an average of 9 lbs over the next 5 months. I can handle that. I have already prepared my Keto weeks and the grocery lists. I just want to reach that third goal by the end of the year and I believe that I can.

My ex-bf has been texting me and calling me a lot. Honestly, I really do miss the fool. I just do not want his insecurities destroying my progress. I am highly conflicted. I know he is a great person and I truly love him a lot. I just do not understand why he has any insecurities. The man workouts and is built. He is very handsome and extremely intelligent. As of now, he is being supportive. Sending me work out routines to try, new recipes and even went as far as to get me a class doing Aerial Silks (Something I have showed extreme interest in). I really need to have a one on one with myself regarding our relationship.

    1. Newme17

      Newme17

Yay for broken stalls! 😊 I wouldn't know but I will celebrate with you.

I do think you need to have a serious one on one with yourself. Also, have you talked to him about his behavior and insecurities? Maybe he needs to hear it and so he'll reflect on hisself and change. You don't strike me as the kind to not say anything, but maybe you didn't??? I actually broke up with my hubby as we were dating. I was ready to get out of the club, partying scenes and he wasn't. Told him he has to change for hisself and not me. So I told him to leave. Not long afterwards we're back together. lol. But he did change (slowly) and he did listen to me. Now I've got a great man, a husband who will move mountains for me, regardless of what I look like. He's secured in himself enough to not project what little he may have, if any, on me. I usually puff him up with compliments though, so that helps. Lol. So anyway, I hope it works out for the way you get blessed, whether it's with him or not. But until you know which way, enjoy taking care of YOU and your cute adorable little doggy.

  18. 7/26 - Worst day EVER!! My dog was hit by a car and his back leg paw is broken. My mom had him off of the lease and he was peeing on some grass near the curb. He was walking on the edge to come back around when he fell into the street and a driver clipped his back right leg. The driver didn't even stop.

He is okay and just requires surgery to get pins in his right ankle. He has surgery on 7/28 in the morning.

I broke my Keto for the day. Anxious eating has always been my problem. I had Tostitos and salsa and just ate half a bag without realizing it. It took over an hour, however I still ate it.

7/27 - Got the price of how much this would cost. Over $5,000 for 3 nights stay, surgery, pins and painkillers. I cannot complain. It was funny to watch people look at me as I paid the medical bills up front. They were like, what does this young girl do and how much money does she make? I was looking at them like, I will pay anything for this dog. I just want to be able to take him home already. He is such a resilient dog though. He continues to try and get up although it hurts. I told him we will be twins (I have screws in my right ankle).

Kept to my keto today. Had beef chevy's for snacks. Sooo good.

Thank you for all the support. He is home and back to being his rambunctious self. I told him, we are twins and licked my nose and curled up with me. I had seriously missed him while he was in the hospital. Now he is talking back and catching his little attitudes like normal, except he cannot jump off of the couch (low couch) anymore lol. Now he goes in the corner and turns his back to me. He is such a teenager.

  19. It's been awhile. No reason, I just haven't been feeling anything lately. A lot happening on the personal aspect of life but overall still good.

I have finally reached a true stall. My body weight has been fluctuating between 201 lbs - 205 lbs. Slightly frustrated because my second goal is 200 lbs. I am almost there but this stall is kicking my butt.

Went for a follow up. Nothing special except I was told I was not eating enough like I used to. It is funny because eating a lot is what got me to need the surgery and now I do not eat enough. They are right though. With me working early mornings, I can eat once maybe twice a day and then sleep the remainder of the day and do it all over again (do note: I am not a morning person). The only time I would eat a third meal this past week is on Gym day. I would eat something small once I am done working out (protein bar or protein shot) and then I head home to sleep. My new bedtime is around 5 - 6pm since I have to be up at 3:00am to start getting ready.

So I am going to end on a good note though. A smile that has not left my face since finding out the news.....(backstory): I worked on a project at work that made sure all the integrations went in smoothly upon setup of our new system. My manager took credit for the integration and tried to change people's imagine a me at work (combative, aggressive, failing to perform, you know the usual). Fast forward a few months. The company is opening a new branch and office and she was away for two weeks doing the integration there and upon launch it flopped. Everything that could go wrong did. Oh how Upper Management mad with her since they had to delay the launch. Everytime he comes out of a meeting she looks stressed. Everything she did to me, she is getting in return. Karma Karma Karma!

    1. Newme17

      Newme17

What got me to wls is not eating enough. Go figure. So, I agree, you must make sure you're eating. You'll see the stall break when you do.

Sorry to hear of the work thing. I don't believe in karma, but I do believe that people will be exposed due to sins and have to pay the consequences. So, she is getting what she's supposed to. Do your best to forgive her though and move on hon.

      And eat!!!! 😁

I also have gone through your last posts. I was on 7 days cruise Vacation last week. HAD all CRAB, SWEET and CHEESE Bling in all that 7 days. When I started vacation I was 202 LB. When I had all the liberty of food at Cruise...I was thinking...OH GOD I will surly gain 10/15 LB end of the cruise. And when I came home last night I checked my weight and by surprise I am 201 LB....:) :) 1 LB down with all that food cheating and crab food. And oh yes....I was drinking 3 beer a day at least :) I surly am on stall from last 1.5 months. But I am really wondering WHY the hell I didnt not gain weight in those 7 days of cruise. ( Where I forgot to have my Multivitamins and Protein powder too )

I am 6 month post op. Mini gastric bypass. Started weight 275 LB....Today 201 LB. Goal is 170 LB.

  21. 7/8 - Extremely healthy keto day.

7/9 - Halo Top 1/2 Cup Chocolate Mocha Chip (I am in heaven!!). Healthy keto day. Weighed in at 208.4 lbs. Gained 1.4 lbs

7/10 - Hung out at Coney Island with my Mom, little Brother and my dog Buddy aka Rasta Scoobs. At Nathans Philly Chicken with no bun. The guy gave me the nasty look when I ordered it. (It was like really, you are going to come here and want to eat healthy at Nathans?). With a nasty tone, he says, "It's going to be the same price and the same amount of meat." So in an even nastier tone, I said, "Did I ask about the amount of meat or the price? No. I asked for a Philly Chicken with No Bun. Thank you." He just placed my order and my brother says, "Don't be surprise if you find some special sauce or a hair floating around in it lol."

7/11 - Keto Day. Decided to step on the scale and weighed 205.4 lbs. I was like WTF!!! What is going on? At this point my weight is fluctuating up and down. I think I maybe starting stall soon and my body is warning me. It could also be water weight.

7/12 - Another Keto Day. Went out to eat with my mom and brother and I was upset because I could have the Tacos of Bell. My mom keeps saying, "Oh you have your meal prep and you have been doing so good on your diet. Taco Bell is not good for you." I was like then why are you eating it. She says, "I'm grown and your mama. Do as I say and not as I do."  She is right but sooo annoying sometimes.

7/13 - My day was healthy. Received two new Hidrate Spark bottles. Gave one to my mom and brother. They are in love and I set them up on their phones.

Breakfast: 2 egg whites boiled with salt.

    Snack: 2 pickle slices

Lunch 1 - 2 : 2.1 oz of turkey with a tomatoes, a little cheese, romaine lettuce and my special dressing. (Broken up into 2 meals)

    Snack: 21 olives.

Dinner 1 - 2: 4 oz of ground beef, a little cheese, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and salsa. (Broken up into 2 meals)

@Newme17That is her favorite saying. Other than, "I am not your friend. We will become friends when you pay a bill in this household." Oh that one makes me laugh because I will look at her like...really....I pay bills....yeah....we friends now...lol. I bring my bottle everywhere but I have been slacking in getting about 40 oz lately.

@Meryline I have an insulated bottle that I use for the gym. I will take those ounces and it to the Hidrate manually. However, I used the Hidrate for when I am at work. During that time I will not drink much of anything because I am busy working.

@Apple1 I really am running on autopilot at this point. I think every mom has said that line lol.

@Sweet as Peaches It is okay. The stalls will happen. I am not stressing it. I have come so far and I will continue to move forward. There is always bumps in the road and we have to jump over them. I just wanted him to understand that just because I am heavy does not mean that I do not want to watch what I am eating. Like do not judge a book by its cover. My little brother is just like my mother.

How much are you able to eat?

I am over 3 months out and I can only eat 2 - 3 oz depending on the protein. Fish and turkey (3oz) but chicken (2oz). Vegetables as snacks (3oz).
  23. Sleeve1stFitNext

3rd day preop diet and i feel...

This is normal. Your body depended on large amounts of food, calories and carbs to receive it's energy. You have essentially cut all of that down by a lot. Remember that carbs are were we get most of our energy. Your body is slowly changing to a more Ketosis state in which it will burn fat for energy. The first 3 - 5 days can be tough. Just make sure you are getting in enough liquids and protein. Everyone feels this change the first week of pre-op.
  24. Sleeve1stFitNext

    Dizzy and tired

I was in the same boat the first 2 weeks. I could not drink my shakes and depending solely on water, Gatorade and protein shots. What stage are you at currently? Everyone stages are different the weeks following surgery. Just let me know and also what foods are you trying? I may have some ideas that you can try.
