I had a really hard time getting fluids in for the first few weeks and still don't hit 64 oz . I'm now 2 1/2 months out. But I get between 30-40 oz a day and feel good at that amount. I carry a water bottle with me always.

there's a website called realself.com that has info about plastic surgery. I'm no where near ready for anything yet. But my surgeon said I'll need a panniculectomy. I've thought about getting a mommy make over after I'm at goal. Although it's also a matter of insurance covering one vs out of pocket for the other. We'll see what the damage is in the end and maybe I'll be comfortable in my new body. I've had 5 children and I'm gong to be a grandma in January. I also worry about whether getting plastic surgery will give my daughters the wrong impression. I still have a 14 &16 yr old at home and don't want them to feel that outer beauty is that important to me that I would need to have surgery to alter my body. However I would love to get rid of the flab and feel good about looking at myself in the mirror and confident. We'll see what time brings.

When I went for my 6 week check up my surgeon said not to go over 1000 calories a day. But it can be different for anyone. Probably depending on your starting weight, etc. If cal the office and ask if you're unsure.

My youngest sound like you. As a baby agree would nurse until she vomited on me. As a child we'd go to the buffet and she vomited on a few occasions. Now as a teen she's struggling to get healthy with low energy, depression, unable to focus and trying to eat right and work out to lose weight. We're seeing several doctors and hopefully we can get her on the right path. She's almost 15 years old.

I'm almost 3 months and still get that. It is getting better though. I think you have to take a little, whatever is tolerable I'd say and you'll start to get used to it the more you eat it . Also, I know get full alot quicker from chicken than yogurt. Therefore I try to go slower when eating meat and anticipate that I'll need to stop eating alot sooner than with other foods. I also have that pain with drinking after eating sometimes even a good 2 hrs after I eat. I have to be careful with that first drink after eating to see how it will feel.

I chose each meal wisely. But at 2 1/2 mos out I can tolerate anything I've tried. Saturday we went kayaking and I are one bite of my mom's peach cobbler. That was enough to make me happy and then ate my Protein. I agree that I want to be able to eat "bad stuff" on occasion and within a reasonable amount. I will not allow myself to go crazy.

that's sad. I've only been back to work 2 weeks now but everyone has commented about how I look good and asked how I feel. They're like my extended family and I've been there for 11 years. Is feel hurt if they didn't. So sorry. I agree there is probably some jealousy there. But just remember some people are @$$holes.

hmills653 reacted to Berry78 in Gym or no gym, that is the question
Ok, so I got curious about the relative speed of excess fat loss.
This is what I've found out about my situation.
I have a sleeve which can usually be expected to shave off 65% of my excess weight. Since I'm already at 54% excess weight lost, (or so I thought).. I was like.. that doesn't sound right. So I dug deeper.
    There is a neat calculator:
    http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/information/post+op+planner.php
According to the calculator, my "ideal" body weight is 147lbs. (I thought it was supposed to be 159lbs.) So I actually have lost exactly 50% of my excess body weight as of now.
I toyed with the percentages and I match up with 85% loss at goal (compared to 65% average). Which puts my final weight at 171lbs. My assumed goal has been 180lbs, so I'm thrilled!
It'll be interesting to see how working out changes things.

I stopped weighting myself. I figure I'll get my weight at the doctors when I habe my 3 mos visit them only weigh once a month. There's to much up and down for me to weigh frequently. I think it'll just frustrate me if I keep weighing frequently.
