I find that waters taste different to me now. I really like the lifewater with the added minerals. It tastes better and goes down easier.

hmills653 got a reaction from Joann454 in I regret this surgery
I'm 3 mos and can eat anything at this point. Good and bad. Now it's up to me to make good choices, choose Protein first and pass on dessert. I've taken a sip of pop and did fine, but was never a pop drinker. I've eaten a slice of cake without a problem. I want to lose weight so now I have to choose the lifestyle I want. I've been down the road of obesity and God has given me a second chance and I am taking it. I'm down 40# since surgery and haven't felt this good in my joints in years. You'll feel better a time passes and you'll probably change your mind. G good luck to you.

I was vegetarian for awhile. The funny thing is, go to subway and get all the veggies you normally would without the meat and you'd be surprised that you probably won't even miss it. My problem was to much Pasta and carbs

one thing I was told is that pre op your stomach volume being larger means that you produce more ghrelin (hope spelled right) which causes more frequent hunger. Whereas post op with less stomach you will not feel as much hunger. I'm 3 mos post op and I feel hungry at meal times but not in between. I think making smart coffees is a big key. Even if you can eat 8 to 10 oz of food, think about calories, nutrition, and Protein first. A chicken breast and broccoli would be a better choice than a big Mac and fries. That's where the difference comes into play.

Oh Yes! I was sitting in my hospital room thinking what the hell did I just did to myself. The first three weeks I was uncomfortable dealing with gas, Constipation, pain with trying to drink, the misery of wanting to chew. I did eventually take a salty potato chip and sick the salt off then slowly chew it to oblivion. It was a wonderful feeling. I got sick of Protein Shakes real quick. chicken broth was nice. I never tried the unflavored Protein Powder but people in here have used it, this can help get your Protein with more variety of liquids. By week 3 I felt alot better and I'm glad I went through with it.

I told my family and friends that I see in person. I told everyone ar work bc they are like an extended family and we support each other and one of the girls even said she was considering it as well. I did not announce it on social media bc I have come this close to unfriending ignorant people over this topic. I had someone post about how she lost 60# and didn't cheat and take the easy way out by having surgery that she went to the gym every day to lose the weight. I was so posed and commented about how weight loss surgery is not cheating, it's a tool and some people cannot physically perform exercises at the gym and with co-morbidities surgery may be their only option over death. This was before I even had surgery but it kills me that purple can be like this. She then either deleted the whole post or blocked me from seeing the post of that's an option idk. But I figure I don't see these people they don't need to know the intimate details of my life. But I feel comfortable telling everyone else especially if can help someone else to change their life for the better.

hmills653 got a reaction from AK_Bookworm in Ladies: The Body differences when you are slimmer
The first place that wrought loss was noticeable is my face and its working its way down oddly enough. When I first went back to work everyone noticed my cheek bones. So it went cheek and collar bones, my teen daughter asked why my hands look bony, I told her my skin is older than hers. My upper abdomen is flatter. I have only gone down one pant size from 22 to 20. 3 mos post op so this is somewhat upsetting. I notice bagginess in my thighs and butt of pants. I really want to lose this belly. I guess it'll take time. I'm grateful for what I've lost, it's just I had my appt with surgeon yesterday and the girl that was about my twin and had surgery the same day looked so much thinner to me with her little chicken legs (meant with love). I'm down 37# since surgery. I know I couldn't have do be that much on my own.

That would be so crazy! I'll just take being a more normal size again, not these over the shoulder boulder holders I've got now haha my roommate in college used to put a cup on her head and say it was big enough to be a hat

My first round of hcg losing 30 lbs in one month, I had a gallstone that was stuck and developed pancreatitis. I thought I was going to die. Horrible pain. I had it out later and it wasn't too bad. I haven't had any trouble since.

My sneaky way of getting all the Protein I get is I add a scoop of non-flavored 15 g protein to any broth or yogurt I eat. I know I'm eating about double the protein most people eat but I was on about 200 g before

hmills653 reacted to Mhy12784 in Sleeve vs. Bypass
But the bypass also carries major risks of malnutrition, Vitamin deficiencys, anemia, osteoporosis as well.
And Uhm glasses don't alter your anatomy at all, they go on your face. When you don't want them you take it off.
A sleeve doesn't alter your anatomy in a surgical sense, it makes your stomach smaller but that's it. There's no crossing wires or anything like that.
How about dumping syndrome with the bypass also? The risks of that I've seen range from 20-85% depending on the degree/incidence of it
You're argument is really stretching things and bending the truth. Both operations are good and serve a purpose. And there are patients who would be better off with one over the other. Again I'm getting a bypass for one of those reasons. But it's a much more serious and involved operation
