Meryline got a reaction from FluffyChix in Poll: How many carbs?
@Berry78 problem is, I don't eat any kinds of Beans, and bread does not go well with my stomach. Every type I have eaten has gotten stuck. I already eat potatoes almost every single day in my stew.
She did say 50% of total, as she was looking at myfitnesspal with me, and loved the days I had close to 50% Protein. I think I have to add more fruit, add a little more Pasta etc. I also have to increase my eating intervals. every 3-4h is not going to cut it, it'll have to be closer to 2-3h. On the weekends it's impossible for me to get enough food in, unless I eat like a bag of popcorn or something.
Hm...

Meryline got a reaction from FluffyChix in Let's Play Another Round of "How I Get My Protein" post WLS
@Berry78 and @FluffyChix I had a 4 day weekend and stayed offline for the most part.
Yes, I'm hungry because I'm not eating enough. Still not eating enough, trying to figure out how I'm going to get more food in me, and still stay with in my guidelines of 50% Protein.

Meryline reacted to Berry78 in Intermittent Fasting
I do want to point out that those studies are performed on your typical people off the street that are consuming 2500 calories on an average day. (Many of us before surgery). Not sure they'd be applicable for us.. at least not until we are able to consume a normal amount of calories again. All those benefits, we've already received from the surgery. I doubt we'd derive MORE benefit from doubling up.... but I dunno..

Meryline reacted to Berry78 in Intermittent Fasting
I can understand the idea of fasting when you hit maintenance... but during the first year postop, we are in a constant fasting state. We are already walking the razor's edge r.e. malnutrition. Hardly a day passes I don't see someone report low levels of this or that (protein, Iron, etc.).
Let the surgery do its thing, and if you get to the point where the scale doesn't move for 2 months, but you have more fat to lose.. then by all means, shake 'er up!

@Meryline I'm so sorry you're hungry all the time! ((hugs)) That's a b***h and also exactly why I'm having the RNY. I gambling that it will reduce my hunger.
So will you post your most recent menu and daily calorie load/average daily macros? Also, if you input that into MFP and track sugar as one of your 5 tracked macros, what is the average daily sugar content (of course that's naturally occurring). I have some ideas about your hunger.

I think we figured out what is causing Meryline's hunger. She is a hair's breath from goal, and needed to increase her calories/protein/nutrition. Sometimes hunger isn't a bad thing!

Thank you both for commenting. I am gonna talk to my surgeon asap. I was just stressed out and worried. You both helped me calm down a little with telling me that I can take a softener right after surgery!
Thanks again!!

liquids goes straight through you. broth is basically flavored water. No need to worry.
Did you do the swallow test after surgery? There we could see that liquids ran straight through.

Thanks. And yes. I have worked out since 3 weeks post up. I had to because I had to strengthen my back to avoid back surgery. I do weight lifting 2 a week, swimming, nordic walking and I walk, everywhere. I average between 15000 - 20 000 steps a day. And I go hiking.

Meryline got a reaction from Berry78 in Why are diets so different?
I have been allowed to eat everything since week 6. As long as I stick to my Protein requirement, the rest is up to me.
Also, no liquid diet for me. Not pre op and only 2 days post op. By day 4 I was eating solid food with restrictions. There are so many guidelines out there. Looks to me that the US is the strictest about the liquid diet.

Meryline got a reaction from pzzytat in Need advice
I'm not sure if looking for the cheapest is the best way to go. I would look for the ones with the best results, other people's experience with the doctor and the after care should there be complications right after surgery.

Meryline got a reaction from Neens in Why are diets so different?
My surgical team has to follow a national standard, and have a great success. Also, I might have been able to eat solids, but everything has to be chewed down to puree, and it's still like that. And I know I have to, or things get stuck
