I'm well aware the size of my stomach! As a mother not even going to bother answering this! A simple answer SPECIFICALLY to the question would have been appreciated NOT the sarcasm.

I am calling the dr tomorrow. Ever since that happened I haven't felt right. My friend thinks it may have been a gallbladder attack. I've also had light colored stools which could also be indicative of gallbladder issue ... which they say can happen from losing weight very fast.

12/8 surgery date here. I ate too much tofu pudding at one time yesterday and the discomfort I experienced had my head spinning. Has anyone else had a bad post meal experience like this? The pain/nausea lasted about 30 minutes and I fell asleep afterward because of the exhaustion. Today I feel like I'm recovering from it.

They are booking it as gallbladder surgery and billing to insurance. I still owe my deductible.
Then, I am paying the Surgeon's fee of $6450 for the VSG. This is self pay and no insurance requirements.
My deductible is still significant, but it is saving me $

    Figured i'd share, may help some1 ...
"A 4-ounce roasted chicken breast gives you more than 35 grams of protein. If you're more of a thigh meat fan, 4 ounces of cooked thigh meat offer nearly 30 grams of protein. Even the drumsticks add lots of protein to your recipe. Four ounces of drumstick meat contain 32 grams of protein."

I'm not a DS'er, I had the RNY, but if the DS had been an option for me, I would have seriously considered it. I had over 200 lbs to lose. It's really difficult to lose that much weight and, more importantly, keep it off. Of all the surgeries, the DS has the most success when you're talking that much weight. It's easier to get the weight off, and easier to maintain it. I managed to get it all off with the RNY, but those last 50 lbs or so were really hard work - and I know keeping it all off is going to be a lifetime struggle. But I wanted to lose 100% of my excess weight, and now that I'm there, I want to keep it off. I'm sure it would be easier had I had the DS (but my insurance doesn't cover them - just RNY and sleeve).

All WLS is only a tool. There is no magic pill--just smarter choices and smaller portions. You need to change your relationship with food regardless of the surgery. It is about self restraint, not a magic pill where poof your excesses are erased.

I had lapband surgery in October and I'm very happy with it. I don't tell people I had surgery. You have to eat healthier whether on Weight Watchers or WLS. I tell people I'm eating healthier when they ask why I'm not having a second piece of pizza. I don't want the attention that telling people brings. Either they say it is a horrible decision or credit my weight loss on the surgery only. I had lapband surgery, not fat removal surgery.

    Hello all,
How is everyone doing? My lapband surgery is scheduled for February 10th and I'm really nervous and scared. I was thinking of switching to the bypass, but it may be too late to do that since it's been approved already. I'm going to get off topic, but has anyone experienced any negativity from friends, significant others, family about bariatric surgery? That's all I've been hearing from everyone and it's so annoying. My boyfriend, well now ex (as of today) broke up with me because of it. I hope I can succeed through this because I feel like I don't have any support whatsoever. I hope you all are doing great.

Hang in there. This too shall pass! Our bodies are all different. Yours just might be working to heal right now.
A pound of muscle and a pound of fat still weigh a pound.
But muscle is leaner and takes up less space than fat. You are building muscle with is leaner than fat so you are probably losing inches.(fat).
My Dr said the reasons we lose the way we do is unknown. We could eat the exact same things week to week and might lose one week but not the other.
Try looking for other things to motivate you rather than the scale. I know it's hard because the scale is how everyone measures success
Are your clothes looser? Do you have more energy, less aches, moving around better? My Dr said to put away the scale and try a smaller pair of pants on weekly. You will probably see results there.
    Good luck. Feel better!!

@@White Sale. I'm on the same boat. I had my surgery on 12/30. After surgery I lost 13lbs in the first 14 days. Almost a pound a day but now I have been stuck on 236.6 for the past 4 days. I started getting disappointed and depressed but then the more I read about it, the more I feel better. I know I'm not eating anything compared to pre-op and I'm actually a lot more active than before. I have been walking average of 5 miles almost everyday. So I should be losing right! But no I'm stuck. Don't give up!

Thank you ladies for telling us exactly how you feel. These are my sentiments as well. I was sleeved on 12/6, which was over a month ago... I've lost 12 lbs since the surgery and pre-op I lost 7 lbs. So, in the past 7 weeks, I've lost 19 lbs in total. However, I've been at the same weight now, for the past 3 weeks!!! I try to remain optimistic, but it's hard. Especially when I read all the posts of 50, 60 and more lbs lost by people that were sleeved after me. Ughhhh!!!

You and like everyone else who ever had surgery.
    Chill out, stop weighing yourself.
Did your Dr even talk to you about surgery? My Dr told me the whole point of the first month is to heal, not lose weight and if I didn't lose any weight the first month it didn't matter. Your body is using all of its energy to try and heal from losing most of an organ, it doesn't care about your weight loss. My Dr sat and thoroughly explained this to me.
18 months later I am down 177 pounds.
    Chill, goodness.

    Hey Everyone,
I'm super nervous. My surgery was supposed to be 1/26 but I got a call yesterday asking if I could go January 16th instead. Everything is happening super fast. I'm most nervous about eating post-op. Not sure if my rambling is making much sense, but I just needed to vent a little.

As you can see I’m still very new to the post-surgery world. But today I had a little success to share with everybody who will be going through the same thing in the near future. An update on how I’m feeling, gas pains are all but gone (keep walking!) I’m now at the point where the sites are very itching and some of the bandaging is coming off. I’m still a little slow but I have very little to no pain, except minor at the incision sites. Now for the little success, I just started full liquids yesterday and today I decided to have some Tomato Soup, I heated up a can of Soup which was about 12 ounces, I sat down and started taking small sips to see how I tolerated it (no problem) it’s shocking how good Tomato soup tastes after the journey I have been on. I started falling into my old eating habits of, it’s in front of me I have to finish, it’s at this point my little breakthrough came today, after eating 4 or 5 ounces of soup I realized I wasn’t hungry anymore, the old me would’ve been like, it’s there you gotta finish it, but this time I stop myself and put the remainder of the soup in the fridge for a later time. I know this is not earth shattering but I guess this is a good success on my journey going forward.

I don't necessarily chew 30 times and I can't always not drink 30 minutes before eating. I never know when I'll get a break at work. But ABSOLUTELY 30 minutes after. It only took one time of forgetting. Results were not pretty!
