    Thanks.

He said the spleen had not gotten bigger since February and that some people have a genetic tendency to ha e larger spleens.

He said the way I described the pain it could be scar tissue from the surgery trying to move over or around itself. This does make sense as I scar badly as does most of my family. So I can only imagine what our insides look like.

He was not overly concerned with the blood tests and said it could be from the fatty liver stuff too and we’d keep an eye on it as it should go to normal as I continue to lose weight. Just like Sherry said above.

He did agree the surgeon should have told me about it.

I have an appointment to see my pcp on Tuesday and plan on getting some answers.

I feel my surgeon should have at least told me about it back in February when he noticed it during my surgery.

I know people can live without their spleen and I don’t think it’s quite that serious lol. Just worried is all And my alkaline phosphatase levels have been high every time blood work has been done the past two years.

Each time they say they’re watching it. Well after two years I want answers to that too!

I’m currently in a stall at 8 months out.

There is a lady on YouTube named Clusie l. She lost 190 pounds in two years with the Sleeve and said she was in a stall for five months.

Everyone is different and some stalls can last longer than others. Hang in there!

This isn’t a active/physical type of hobby but I am into painting rocks.

It’s an offshoot of the Kindness Rocks project.

I paint rocks, then hide them around town. I’ve yet to find my first one, but find that painting them is relaxing and a lot of fun. And it keeps my mind off food.

It isn't too big. You are binge eating on sliders/liquids.
Do you have a therapist? You really need to work on the root cause of your food addiction.
There is no way to make a sleeve small enough to combat food addiction.

I am using Baritastic and really like it -- tracking food, Vitamins, Water, and exercise. Thinking about using it to track medications as well. I was wondering how it compared to My Fitness Pal since I know many people use that.

I'm kinda bad about it too.

    What I take daily are:

    Biotin 5,000 iu
    D3 10,000 iu. (I'm very low on vit D)
    Calcium Citrate 600
OTC Iron pill every other day
2 Flintstones Complete Vitamins (these are what I hate. Any chewables really).

    I was sleeved 2/8/17.

I second guessed myself through most of the process. It boiled down to being afraid to succeed and losing the weight means breaking down some walls I had put up.

I would say it's normal to question such a major surgery and everything it entails. But I would say when making your choice to think of whether it was hard or easy to lose the weight.

If you can keep the same discipline up for the rest of your life then maybe you don't need the surgery.

The surgery isn't a quick fix but it is a great tool to help those of us who have yo-yo dieted and lost and regained weight. For me it helped in that I knew the majority of my stomach would be removed and I would not be able to physically eat as much as before so it would make me stick with it as I wouldn't have a choice.

It also helped knowing that the hormone that causes hunger, ghrelin would be greatly reduced thus helping with the weight loss as well.

So for me the surgery was the right choice.

I chose sleeve bc I was more nervous about the re-routing of my intestines being more invasive and dumping syndrome scares me. I'm three weeks tomorrow and happy with my choice. I've already lost 28# since the surgery.

If we all were always "on track on eating clean" none of us would have any problems. I would guess most of have episodes of eating the wrong foods, too much food, lose our minds.....etc. The difference between failing and being successful is not the complete absence of "I think I just lost my mind" episodes but the ability to get right back to it once the episode is over. Failing from time to time is part of the process.......so don't confuse it with "being a failure". It's a process, a journey and to think you're never going to slip is not being realistic. I have a little saying in my bathroom "I fall down, I get up and meanwhile I keep dancing". Keep dancing and you'll reach your goal.

Olypie got a reaction from SleevyB in Feb 2017 sleevers - how's everyone doing post-op?
Doing better. Sleeved 2-8. Finally on regular food but find I can't handle any type of meat very well. So still having trouble with hitting Protein goals.

I'm still nauseated every day but surgeon told me basically suck it up. Offered no anti nausea meds or anything. Same with the diarrhea problem. He said to expect stools to be loose the rest of my life. Not sure I believe him though.

On the plus side I broke the 300 mark and am 299!!! I still go between 301 and 299 so I think I've plateaued.

But overall I think I'm doing better!

Olypie reacted to ready_to_be_thin in Kinda OT: What do you guys think of Mama June's news headlines about her VGS & Body Lift?
I've seen all of the episodes, and they definitely show all of the ups an downs that she went through. It shows her with her trainer, the difficulties she had following the diet, and the major amounts of pain she dealt with on the skin removal surgeries. They also showed her having some problems with depression. I think if people watch the show, they'll see that its not an easy way out of doing things, but if not, people might draw that conclusion...that we all know is sure not the truth. I think she really looks good and I commend her for going through all of this with a camera on her allowing everyone to see the struggle.

I too use Zulily! They have great deals if you look. I'm pre op, but shopped a bit on Zulily for some tunic shirts and leggings. They have tops from $6.99 and up. They have leggings from $9.99 and up.
My other go to is Woman Within. Huge selection there. They are a plus size catalog store. Take time to look at all their clothes and you can find great buys! They have from size 14/16 up to 5X. Just take time to look for the sales. Almost every day they have some sort of promo or sale. These clothes are well made and comfy. They tend to run big.
    Hope that helps! Good luck!
