    Late night

Hey! Where do you buy your Genepro from -- Amazon? Currently on Protein shakes but if I can mix it into my food later that'd be cool too. Can't wait till next week when I can have pudding. Do you think it's the best flavorless Protein powder?

    Carbonated water

For me, carbonated bevs of any kind are on the no list for me which sucks because I love Topo Chico mineral water. Maybe mini bottles of it several months post op. .-. Interested to see what others think that have been operated on for some time already.

    It's happening!

Maydawn1972 is right! It's something you won't fully get until you finally go through with it. Some changes I noticed that were automatic -- getting used to sleeping on my back (if you're a tummy sleeper, this will change while you recover if you don't want to be in pain from your incisions - I built a pillow barrier around my arms and extra pillows under my head which helped), and needing to take sips and not chugging something like I used to pre-op. No more beer bongs lol Still no regrets! It's tough, takes balls, and gets kind of lame when my options are limited just 4 days out to broth, Protein shakes, and Jello. Still have to try out Crystal Light to spice things up a bit. Things will get better though! Buy jello in ALL the colors for variety. Sodium free broth is better than the regular kind that's loaded -- add a dash of your own salt if you want and I've added lime for extra flavor - no issues with the citrus factor. Good luck!

    Late night

A cup of sodium free chicken broth with lime and then a dash of salt (I prefer to add my own rather than buying sodium infused bouillon) will fill me right up.

    Out with the old!

Nice ritual ya got there! I've decided to keep some select fancy dresses and alter them to my goal size later on once I make it. Gonna donate a bunch as well! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

It might be a fine line...

Here's my four legged garbage disposal. Currently in day 4 of post op diet (vsg 12/29). Have learned - dog likes Jello. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    10 days post op...question

All are pills except the Multivitamins and probiotic which are gummies. I'm 3 days post op but haven't had an issue swallowing pills. And yeah all at once usually in the morning! It's a routine I'm used to! Maybe it's a little overkill but I already have thin hair and I don't want it to get any thinner! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    10 days post op...question

My vitamins: adult Multivitamin, probiotic, Omega 3, Iron, Fiber, b12, vitamin D-3, and hair skin and nails vitamins and another one called moringa. It may seem like a long list but all of it's in hopes of my teeth, skin, bones, digestive system and hair staying in good health post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    4 days Post OP

Today (my post op day 3) was my first outing to the movies. It was so hard. I sat with my parents while one had a burger and fries and the other a toasted sub sandwich - mix that with seeing all things junk food at the movies. All I could do was sip from my Water bottle and stick a cherry Halls cough drop in my mouth. It wasn't so bad when I got home though, I guess it's just visual triggered head huger that passes. I was what I guess was kind of hungry when I got home and I've been filled with a cup of miso Soup, a Jello, and am now sipping on a chocolate Protein shake. Big dinner for me. No quitting now! It sucks to have limited options but it's great knowing it only takes a little to fill me up! One day - options will widen just have to be mindful always and forever. 12/29/16 - almost to day three post-op!

  13. I've seen all of My 600 Lb life. I like it because it tells their people's stories! It was interesting to reference while going through the weight loss surgery process starting from my HW of 300. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sleeping on Stomach

Dedicated tummy sleeper, but after surgery I got used to sleeping on my back to avoid the pain. It's easier if you make a U-shaped pillow border around you. I probably won't go back to sleeping on my stomach till the pain from my incisions subsides since I just got operated on less than three days ago! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Sips. Sips. Sips.

Earlier I accidentally took a gulp of Water from my water bottle and my eyes were wide - I was like oh snap, what do I do? I swallowed the gulp slowly and waited a while for my next sip. Definitely a lesson learned! Don't want to get that bursting feeling in my chest! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No more citrus ever?

I'm on day 2 post op barely and I put lime in my broth not thinking, no problems thus far though! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Post-op Pain

I also got sleeved on 12/29, it's 12/31 at 12:43am here, my first night home. I went to sleep super early because the pain meds made drowsy and I was exhausted from the whole process of spending the night at the hospital! I do miss my pain pump thing they had attached to my stomach. Honestly it feels like someone took a gun a shot me in the gut. Ugh! Surgery twins OP! Right there with ya! I got out of bed which was so difficult since my bed is raised, and I had to rush to go pee. Struggling to drink even a fifth of my Propel Water. Took some more pain medicine. Walked around my house a few times to circulate. Tummy still hurts. :S

    4 days Post OP

I'm only two days out so I can't really help there but I just wanted to add that i haven't had nausea either. My incisions have been really tender though and it's hard to get up or sit down/go use the bathroom/get in and out of bed. My stomach gets all gurgly if I drink anything even at sips - is this considered gas pain? I should have taken time to go to the pharmacy for Gas-X or something before I got home from the hospital, it's 12:20am my time in Texas. Best advice for me has been slow and steady. Nothing is rushed right now. Anyway, right behind ya in post-op days! It all happened so fast!

    Depression

I have major depression/bipolar depression and anxiety and just got sleeved less than 24 hours ago. It's got to get bad before it gets good chicka! This has been like a light at the end of tunnel. Think of it as a push/ a tool/ being plucked from where you are now to be in a better more healthier more alive place than you were before! Carry onwards, focus, have faith! I struggled a lot preop with committing to the preop diet but days before it finally clicked for me and I'm doing great now. This won't be easy but it'll sure as hell be worth it to improve your quality of life! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
