Sandee29 got a reaction from jstlilsin in What you wish you'd known before having weight loss surgery
First of all, good luck with your journey!
To be honest with you- I️ have no regrets and there really isn’t anything I️ wish I’d known. It’s all a learning experience and you learn as you go through your journey. They keep saying the first year is a gift - I’m not sure what that means- so I’m thinking I️ need to stay with my new habits I️ have made a part of my life this year -exercise and eating habits.

Sandee29 got a reaction from confusedturtle3 in Describe your liquid diet?
My nutritionist allowed me to add a 1/3 of a banana to my Protein Shake in the morning. I️ was allowed to have egg drop Soup - I️ had that for lunch and dinner and then another Protein shake during the day.

Congratulations-You look great! I keep stalking also and the dr. told me that since I don't have 100's of lbs to lose- my loss will be slow. I feel like the inches are coming off b/c I'm working out.
Have you tried other shakes? Premier, jay robb? Nugo slim bars are also great for Protein and Fiber. Do you go to local support groups? We just had a meeting at the one I go to and they targeted food choices.
Hang in there!

Cauliflower soup- I found the recipe after my surgery and my daughter still asks for it.
Boil cauliflower till soft, put in blender along with a ladle or two of the Water you boiled it with. Add butter, salt & pepper. That's it!!!

Sandee29 got a reaction from Bigsuzy1969 in Thinking about SLEEVE...is this a regret?
Okay, so I have a friend that had this surgery approx 3 yrs ago. In my mind I thought, why can't she just stick to a diet? If she worked out regularly and ate healthy then she'd lose weight.
Fast forward 3 yrs....this is the best thing I ever did! I have done WW, slimfast, starvation diets, prescription meds, cleanses, Atkins, gluten free, paleo and I was able to lose and gain a zillion times. I was also diabetic and had high cholesterol. (off all Meds now) I had the surgery in Dec and I realize it's a tool to help me. I can still eat everything - I eat bread, Pasta, pizza - everything! I just have a signal in me to stop now. I'm down 60 lbs since December, I work out 4-6 days a week. I do get a bit disappointed now and again when I sit down to eat something I've been looking forward to and have to stop after 3-4 bites b/c I'm full (but that's a good thing!)
I still go out to eat and I usually bring a little cooler in my car b/c I know I'll have leftovers. Another good thing is that my husband and daughter are now eating healthier.
Good luck with your decision!!!
